Who wanted to listen to happy punk anyway? But the news of Joey's death has really affected me and I don't know why - I didn't even own a Ramones album! I was more into the Clash and Wire, XTC, sort of a punk snob. But yesterday they did a sort-of Ramones tribute on my local NPR station and my jeez, listening to some of their songs made me realize what I'd missed..........and how much Joey will be missed. I'm not at all religious, but I keep thinking about the music that's being made by all the great musicians we've lost, who just have to be jamming somewhere in the stratosphere! I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing this photo in an article from the 1980s (_Arena_, perhaps?), which means the "copyright" in the photo is (a) wrong (b) copyright theft (c) both. 2. I thought it said in said article that the photo was taken in Detroit. The caption said something about "greasy kid stuff." I can't verify either of these points at the moment.
