Recorded live by Granada TV in England in 1979, this is Roxy Music during the Manifesto Tour, with still 4 of the original members, performing songs from the reunion album but also many classics from their early years. Bryan Ferry wears a red leather suit. Very rare Japanese LD, never reissued, this footage was not released on any other format nor outside Japan, and most likely will not make it to DVD. Never seen on eBay, hard to find, won't show up again anytime soon. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter listing: Manifesto / A song for Europe / Still falls the rain / Mother of pearl / In every dream home a heartache / Ain't that so / Love is the drug / Editions of you / Re-make re-model / Virginia plain ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2001 16:07:39 +0200 From: "danilo" Subject: [AVALON] Do the bondage I'm just guessing what if me or Reecey had the same idea Cec .-)))) danny - -----Messaggio Originale----- Da: "cecilia" A: Data invio: martedl 17 aprile 2001 14.30 Oggetto: RE:[AVALON]- Bryan, Robert Fripp and Miss Whiplash!! > Now I'll try some leather stuff on and see if Bryan rings my door > bell too... > ;-) > Cecilia ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2001 20:13:05 +0100 From: Richard Evans Subject: Re: [AVALON] BF/Roxy books/bios I can recommend it highly. There were tons of photos from cbgb: blondie, talking heads, richard hell--the curator (or whatever) took us in back to see undisplayed photos, and we talked about those early days, incl. a photo session for punk magazine in which joey r. was pictured quite comically on a beach (jones, probably) with dead white skin and a surfboard as long as he was tall. I think that the photo exhibit ended the day before he died. Last night I saw the psych. furs and Richard butler said how sad he was to hear of J.'s death. I feel quite lucky that I saw the Ramones several times (of course, a 'later' Ramones) and I appreciate their music. I feel doubly lucky that I am going to be able to see Roxy (not just BF), that although time has passed, there is still an incarnation of Roxy to see for those of us who did not have the chance to see them the first time around. I just hope that the next time a musician I admire dies, I am not notified by my mother, who only remembers "it was some guy from a band you like that started in the 70s" and forces me to play a guessing game from hell. I didn't try the pre-sale for RM but I will be trying it this week for another band touring this summer. How did people fare with pre-sales? Were you able to connect to the Ticketmaster ticketing system? Was the pre-sale worth it? I wonder how this upcoming pre-sale will go. ALL of the band's concerts are going on pre-sale at the same time.
