I've been scouting my local bookstores (one of which is a huge one that supplies amazon.com) and I have yet to find one. I've gotten a lot of great and strange other bios/pamphlets/concertbooks there--bowie, bolan, david sylvain--so I'm wondering if there just isn't much out there, at least not in the U.S.. I don't have my own computer, so I never feel safe ordering things that way, but will find a secure place to do so if that's the only way. I would love some recommendations. p.s. thanks for the response on eric matthews--I didn't know that bit about Jason Falkner or even Cardinal--I'll have to check them out now! You can find a complete list, with short reviews, at www.roxyrama.com under 'miscellaneous'. Most of the out-of-print books are available via eBay or through specialised dealers. From the first time I heard him, I thought 'this is the best thing I've ever heard,' so yes, I am biased, but he is my voice of the century! Incidentally, I voted for: Bryan first(of course!)Dido second, and Roy Orbison third. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Apr 2001 18:07:30 -0000 From: "Tracy Connell" Subject: Re: [AVALON] BF/Roxy books/bios Chris is right. Everything except 'Unknown Pleasures' is out of print. However, there is a book of sheet music for Taxi available for #7.95. There are list of books about Bryan and Roxy listed on various internet pages. One book I found very good was 'The Bryan Ferry Story' by Rex Balfour. It was written in 1976, so only goes up too then, obviously, but it's a great read. It didn't take long to read and would have been great if it went up to the present day. www.bn.com (Barnes and Noble) are showing 3 copies of this available in their out of print section. There's 'Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music' by Barry Lazell listed on the site too, but not in stock at bn.com. There's a very good list of Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music books on roxyrama.com click on link for Miscellany then Books. If you go to www.Waterstones.co.uk they have an out of print booksearch service. You just key in all the details you know about the books like title, author, jacket etc and they will search for a copy for you.
