The other difference on the single version is the guitar towards the end, when Phil does the high note bendy strings bit - on the single it starts earlier. The main difference is that the Eno-isms were mixed off the remixed version to make it nice and glossy. Unless they were planning to use the excellent BBC version which has even more Eno tampering! That doesn't surprise me when you consider that they are doing dates in Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and Birmingham. They are all too close together (Manchester to Sheffield just over 40 miles, similar distance between Sheffield and Nottingham and ditto Nottingham and Birmingham). Maybe someone lost the map? It really disappoints me that they aren't playing in Wales as Cardiff has a suitable venue, and the whole of the south coast and the west country is being ignored. How about Exeter, Bristol, Bournemouth? With three dates at Wembley and two in Brum it seems as though people are willing to travel - they have no choice if they want to see this tour. I suspect it may be a similar situation as with the USA, where they are only playing cities with Clear Channel (or CCI as we know them at Jazz FM) related venues. Would this explain the shoddy treatment of mainland Europe and Australasia, not to mention the rest of the "world"? Now it could be that Ticketmaster's computer sells the first seat in a row, then moves sequentially down the row, selling tickets all the way to the back of the hall, before it comes back to the stage and starts selling in teh next row. Who knows? But in any case, I was SO excited that I actually got into the internet presale (I've had bad luck before) and had a ticket before me that wasn't awful, that I bought it without hesitation or search for a better seat. Unless you're in the very front row of the floor, nothing is probably too great at the Allstate Arena, described by one member as the worst place in Chicago to see a concert (although I'd probably award that honor to Soldier Field). BTW, in case anyone is interested, it was 80 F and very humid in central Illinois today. In the span of about 24 hours, we went from weather that was still too chilly to weather that is too warm and sticky. Life in the Midwest! It may have "dampened" me, but it certainly didn't dampen my enthusiasm for the Roxy tour. Now I can really start to get into this discussions about what the set list will be, and so forth. After the on-line ticket mess for the Roxy show at the Garden in New York two weeks ago, I e-mailed a letter of complaint to the Ticketmast**.com "Contact Us" department, describing the problems I had trying to get tickets with a password. I never did receive a reply, other than the standard "We've received your e-mail and will contact you within 48 to 72 hours." I went on-line this evening to check my "account status" so that I'd be ready to order tickets for the Camden show tomorrow morning. After typing in the info (tried several times) the site will now not "recognize" my e-mail address or password. I decided to try to re-register, and got a message stating that my e-mail address is already registered. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but could this be a case of "blackisting?" I can't remember to be honest!!! A techno-pop girl(?) band. I`ve heard an instrumental called Mu-tron and a song called Playgirl.....their "Casanova" I assume. I`d give them a rating of "Not Offensive", which is actually a good rating compared to what`s out there now. I could certainly handle a couple tunes thrown into a mix, but not an entire album. I`m sure you can find them on Napster. >Ah hell, it's Friday afternoon! Which is my Wedsneday. (sigh!) The other difference on the single version is the guitar towards the end, when Phil does the high note bendy strings bit - on the single it starts earlier. The main difference is that the Eno-isms were mixed off the remixed version to make it nice and glossy. Unless they were planning to use the excellent BBC version which has even more Eno tampering!
