No sight, no sound, nada of the pre show build up or what it will be. It will be very interesting to see how "SFX" promotes this Roxy Music and These Roxy Music shows throughout the available media. We will get to see how this "promo machine" works. Will they try to portray them as the among the original and prevailing molders of modern music. Or: Will they portray them with that understatedly cool flashy noire image. Or : Will they simply prey to the least common denominator and treat us like lapping sheep. With a: "Hey, Roxy Music is back together. If you want to see them you better come. And oh, is that your wallet? Yeap, you better bring that thing too." I for one would love to see what these ads end up looking like. The ad I have seen for the Ireland & UK shows has some class and is dripping of that Art deco, "Black Tie Wings Too" look. They have been trying for years to get the induction ceremonies to be held here in Cleveland, and it looks like it will happen, from what I've heard in recent news reports. Anyway, I watched the induction ceremonies on TV this weekend. I am not too much of a hard rock fan, but my favorite hard rock group is Aerosmith. I have been e-mailing the Rock Hall for years suggesting that Roxy Music and Todd Rundgren should be inducted. I'll keep e-mailing. Let's all hope it happens soon, because it's definitely well-deserved. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-avalon@smoe.org [mailto:owner-avalon@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Jads2@aol.com Sent: Monday, March 26, 2001 10:44 AM To: avalon@smoe.org Subject: Re: [AVALON] the @!#* r-n-r hall of shame In a message dated 3/26/01 10:14:23 AM Eastern Standard Time, tmoq@pipeline.com writes: << Exactly. After literally hearing: "Your call is important to us. Please hold on. Someone will be right with you." mixed with that horrific "jingle" music, I relented. They were supposedly open! I guess the ticket office staff just couldnt figure out what that ringing noise in the back round was.
