It's funny how time mellows one's attitudes towards many bands of that era, but resolutely NOT THEM !! Not only but also, Granada Plus (for it is they) were showing an old 'Supersonic' just before it last week. Could be a ripe source for nostalgic home-tapers with access to Sky Digital... The best way I can describe it is absolute drivel. They've become a parody of themselves, and not a very good one at that. I'm all for being creative, but the stuff they've put out has been pretty poor by anyone's standards. Now if Roxy were planning to put together an album of that quality I'd be pretty pissed off. There's a big difference in giving people the chance to hear some great songs live once again and kidding people on that you are still creating something new and inventive. In my book the Stones certainly fall into the latter category. As for the << You off? Bye then... >> posting that really isn't a very adult way of carrying on a fair discussion. I would go as far to say that the sender of that post should have a good long think about what they want to contribute to a list like this. If that is the best they have to offer then maybe it's time that they followed their own lead. For AMA folks - the 'Friday drink' will be at Shoeless Joe's, which is in Temple Place, above Temple tube station (District & Circle line). It's apparently massive, hoping all in London early for AMA can nip along. A few of us should be there from around 7.30 / 7.45pm onwards tomorrow evening for a gossip & chit-chat. reecey... ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2001 15:39:55 EST From: JFROXY@aol.com Subject: Re: [AVALON] Roxy support act In a message dated 15/02/01 19:16:38 GMT Standard Time, will@execpc.com writes: > > How about this one, I remember when Babe Ruth was the supporting act in > > ...78? > > > That would have been 74 or early 75. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2001 20:49:54 -0000 From: "anotherphotographer" Subject: Re: [AVALON] True Fans???? Only recently arrived Grant (very 2000ad name, that). Thunderbirds is a younger kids comic and a closely guarded secret - my local newsagent can't get 'em so why should anyone in the US? So - does this make you a Whovalonian? Or an Avahooligan? Sorry out there - this is Doctor Who meets Roxy. Now there's a mini-series! I should explain (though I may get thrown off for boring you all to death) that Bernice is in very small part a character I helped devise in the spin-off Doctor Who world. Then like all ungrateful children, she waltzed off and got in with a bad crowd, laughed and drank with them, now she's coming back to me this summer and things are going to be different this time . . . enough already! I love to throw in references to Roxy whenever possible to keep myself sane(!). The print is taken from the Dredd story 'The Pit' (part 12) which I'm sure you know all about, Grant, Judging(!) by your incredibly comprehensive Guide, which I just checked out. I gave strict instructions to the colourist to paint up Andy's Dalek trouser-suit in green, which they faithfully ignored. Same story featured Jarvis Cocker the Gallagher brothers in a catch-wagon. If you want to look at my own very new and not at all flashy site, its at: LeeSullivan.co.uk Sorry people - Roxy all the way next time . . . ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2001 18:40:34 EST From: ThomasS197@aol.com Subject: Re: [AVALON] Roxy support act My favorite supporting act was Robert Gordon at the Masonic Auditorium, Detroit.
