But I see from today's Weekend magazine that the Artsworld channel (who knew?) is screening Bryan Ferry in Concert tomorrow (Sunday) night at 10pm GMT. There's a blurb which promotes the show as the 'pick of the other channels' that reads: "The former Roxy Music frontman has come a long way since the glitz and glamour if the early 70s. This live performance features Ferry singing tracks from his latest album As Time Goes By, a collection of reworkings of 30s standards, including Falling In Love Again and September Song." There's a color picture also. Strangely the larger pic next to it of Johnny Depp has him sporting a tuxedo and bow tie - some kind of subliminal tribute? It sounds like it would be good to watch if you knew Artsworld existed, you'd bought a package that provides it and you remembered it was on. But my guess is that any TV screening will manage to have fewer extras than the DVD... Yes - actually an entertaining programme (both cheesy and tongue in cheek!). I only watched it because at the last minute I spotted that Radio Times said "Smoke" was one of the songs featured in Channel 4's "Top 10 Heartbreakers" so I thought we might get a little mention of the man... But even better. Several short clips of Bryan - also talking about "Tracks of my Tears" (including a very brief snip of him singing it) as well as Smoke.. (couldn't decide whether the clip was from Brussels or the Paris DVD, but the programme implied - to me - that Bryan's was the definitive version). We even had a glimpse of the Jealous Guy video as an also-ran. This one was "top ten smooching songs" I think, and they were discussing "Smoke gets in your eyes". Managed to scrabble a tape in, but only half way through.
