I must admit that it does sound a bit dated today but it still has a certain beauty and yes, the lyrcis are very special. "Love me madly again" has always been one of my favourites (next to the title track!) - - you can just "live" through the song. Great interpretation, can only agree with you. A pity Ferry didn't pick a song for his ATGB tour; would have prefered that to "Let's stick together" - a catchy song but not very suitable for his voice. ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Feb 2001 09:43:43 +0000 From: "Simon Galloway" Subject: [AVALON] Panglossian exercise >>> Colleen Matan 02/07 10:19 pm >>> >The process of speculation and anticipation is not merely a Panglossian >exercise Isn't Panglossian some sort of Eastern European dessert? Are we talking Manifesto time>circa 77? What was wrong with the tour back then? I'm really curious, cause I thought the music was great from that time. Was it maybe not what you expected/hoped for? I can imagine that it must have been a shock compared to early 70's stuff, but, you never know, there may be musical redemption of sorts for you this time round! >===== Original Message From avalon@smoe.org ===== >Michael, > >I realize you are being optimistic. Yes, David, this has been on top of my want list too, after I heard Ella Fitzgerald sing it a couple of months ago! I have a very long want list, but this is absolutely number one! As for the menu problems with the DVD none were known about to date. For what it's worth my copy works fine, having said that I run it from the PC into my TV set so there may be a problem with specific stand alone player units. If I hear anymore I'll pass it on. I've got the DVD (and BTW I have also had problems with it - although the concert plays right through and is excellent), but I know several other people who would like the VHS version. Any news on why the distribution has been so patchy and low-key?
