Hallelujah! As The World Turns is one of my favorite "rare" songs. Does anyone know when/where it was recorded? It was released shortly after In Your Mind but does not sound like an out-take from the sessions for that album. It was also co-written with Jobson, who was not working with Bryan at that time (I believe). Yet another question: I've noticed many of Bryan's early solo singles have Roxy songs as b-sides. Are those re-recordings, or the original Roxy versions? If they are re-recordings, could someone list all the Roxy songs that Bryan has remade/remodelled for those singles? I would really appreciate. Thanks for your help! In the north, it's very different. Luckily. If I went to Bavaria and talked to a farmer or so, I wouldn't understand that much. So, to get on-topic again, ry's pronounciation has got some charme, and I find it interesting that English pop stars thank German audiences often with "Danke schvn!", the "schvn" emphasized, while in general the "Danke" is being emphasized. >> Well Christian, I can tell you have not been to Bavaria; there are as many dialects as in the North of Germany; Plattdeutsch sounds as strange to me as some of the dialogs that I have to deal with down here, however, you can get along...if you want to. Funny but "dankeschvn" seems fine to me and I always use it; it's a lot more emotional than than just "danke" but hey - this might be the real difference between North and South - more intellectual in the North, more emotional in the South. Would you agree? Luckily I know both parts very well and ejoy both sides! ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Jan 2001 06:27:50 -0600 From: Jim Rosencutter Subject: [AVALON] Napster Find I stumbled across all the tracks for the Roxy bootleg "First Kiss," the BBC recordings from 1972-75 (dates correct?). They are pretty good quality mp3s, and actually sound like they are at the correct speed. I will leave AudioGnome (it's like Napster on steroids-you gotta check it out) online today for those who would like to download them. Look for username "cuttuc" or search for Roxy and First Kiss. Or contact me off-list to arrange for another time. Well, that was quoting from the promo version but now the full artwork has come thorugh and has revealed an extra Roxy link. It's the new album by jazz organist Jimmy Smith coming out very soon called Dot Com Blues. Amongst the guests are Dr. John and BB King. The album is produced by John Porter who also plays guitar on a number of tracks, and on the BB King collaboration both Andy Newmark and Neil Hubbard feature, along with Pino Palladino on bass. So there you have it! I heard he is seeking financial support? Please advise. I sometimes wonder how Roxy would have sounded had they kept him. I would love to hear the BBC recordings with his manic playing. He also stood in for Syd Barret.
