I rarely have anything to say but I love reading the past concert by concert reports, bantering between folks, the international connection etc. Honor amongst lurkers. The CD version is from a CD-tree disk called "First Kiss." Or at least I think it is; I acquired it in a trade with another Avalonian, but it was labelled "BBC Sessions 71-74." My vinyl version is also "Better than Food." Not my first bootleg purchase, but my favorite. The version on the Avalon CD-Tree is from the "Better Than Food" vinyl boot on Anti-Gravity Records ("Getting the Music to the People"). I chose it over the 2 Champagne and Novocaine boots (TAKRL and Saturated Recordworks...also on vinyl) because it was better quality and required less work to clean up. I never noticed a speed difference between the three versions but the record speed was absolutely 33 1/3 rpm. My turntable (a recent-vintage Technics) probably isn't as nice a yours, but the speed seems to be set right according to the little strobo-thingy, and other records don't sound too fast. Maybe the Euro 33-1/3 isn't as fast as the American 33-1/3 :) ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2000 08:36:23 +0100 From: "Sebastian Fasthuber" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Ferry on German Radio > i can try to record the show. yessss, please do so. it's http://www.ndr2.de/ the concert is on at 21.00 central european time, 20.00 in great britain. you just scroll down in the main frame and click on 'RealAudio Stream' (on the ´right'). sebastian > > > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > The subliminable footer says: > To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: > unsubscribe avalon > > ___________________________________________________________________________ The subliminable footer says: To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V5 #390 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
