You can't help but notice the strain of his voice on some of his latest tours. Take "Avalon" on the Fjord Pleasure, he can't reach the high notes. Now I love the man but I'm beginning to really wonder what lies in store in the future. There should have been a CD released long ago a Rock & Roll ,done with Dave Stewart . It's never materialized as, Dave said in a interview," Bryan wants to much perfection". This brings to my mind another artist I like a lot & that would be " Sade" . A new track from her new CD is getting airplay & its soooo smooooth titled " By your Side". Coming in Nov. is the CD titled "Lover's Rock" . What "Sade" does , is somewhat like Bryan. She'll take about four years in between to write her new material, & yes its four years in the making, but no longer . The new stuff hits & it always is better than before. You haven't forgotten her & then she's back looking gorgeous singing better & she's off & going again. I see the perfection in both these artists , but Bryan seems to have hit a writers block. Will he come up with new material? We don't know!. Will he continue to stick with the older established Ballads he likes so well.? Possibly! Does he himself feel like his voice can't reach the high notes & wants to continue with what we all know he does so well, nostalgia ballads? Only Bryan himself can answer that & I wish he would just let the public know. Hopefully he'll take the next few months to contemplate what lies in store in his future. Also an album with more shakespeare sonnets in the way he did at the Diana tribute album will be great.I really love the way he´s making music now. don´t expect a new thrill of it all. I'd say monsieur Ferry is still a very, very good singer. Well, err, singer, - it's more of a performer, or maybe an illusionist. You didn't have to be a great singer to make something out of Every Dream Home a Heartache, but certainly one had to have a kind of magic dark undefined voice. I'm not a music-critic so maybe I'm just plain wrong. Also, a bit less futile, does anyone know if there were any decent transscriptions made of RM/BF songs for guitar? Searching the www.olga.net guitar archive I found a very small quantity, and at the RoxyRama page I found none at all. It would be nice to have the chords for some of the less electric-frenzy-chaotic songs. At least, I like to think so... Maybe some guitar-handling-list-member could come up with chords? Don't get me wrong - I'd like him to write lots of material and EVEN RELEASE it. But I'd prefer more re-interpretations than nothing at all. One shouldn't forget how innovative his cover versions are and have been. No, he'll never turn into Rod Sewart, I'm certain. And his voice may have gotten softer, but it's still that whimsical velvet croon I treasure so much. I agree with Rob: he was never one to display a seven-octave range or so, but instead his singing style is totally unique and instantly identifiable. Don't get me What do you base this statement on? He's been writing lots of stuff--he just can't get it released.
