I hadn't really left, I was just sat with a long drink in a dimly lit corner. Note to Martijn Gussekloo - I don't know of an online preview but can confirm that the video clips on Valentine are *well* worth the price of the CD. They all feature the band performing live (not lip-synch) for German television and one clip has Roxy doing Re-Make/Re-Model in 1973. For that song, Ferry's almost in Stranded-era clobber (white tuxedo) but with Eno still present, Roxy hadn't entirely lost its early sound and attitude. It's a real eye-opener and probably gives some idea (only a hint, I suspect) of how knowingly decadent this band was on stage in its early days. There's a major overlap between this disc's contents and its predecessor's so if you have Psalm already it may not be worth your buying this one too. If he would be willing to share the "secret" to getting membership numbers/info, I'd be happy to handle monthly reports to the list - if there aren't objections, of course. Right so. And Graham Linehan's new show, Black Books, co-written by Dylan Moran who co-stars, has after a shaky start become a big fave round my pad with its third brilliant episode. No Roxy references spotted so far... probably only a matter of time. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Turner To: > Graham Lenihan and Arthur Matthews who wrote FT also wrote sketch series Big > Train, which had a Chairman Mao sings Virginia Plain satire.. > > Closet Roxy fans methinks... > ___________________________________________________________________________ Come to Las Vegas and hear the indestructible tagline sing selections from "The Jazz Singer" !
