Only half a mile away. Should I take a turn off the elevated motorway and head across to Campden Hill Gardens ? ; and toot my horn in a playful rendition of the Lets Stick Together intro. (Remembering it was also the anniversary of Lennon's assasination I thought better of it.) Instead I played ATGB loud. Curious the new things one finds in these moments. The cocktail party cacophony at the end of Sweet and Lovely mirroring the start of another song 28 years ago. And how could we have doubted the vocals upon release last autumn ? Once or twice he does sound likes he has mild influenza, granted, but the intonations are so heartfelt as to render these criticisms redundant. I'm In The Mood and Where Or When still standout but I've grown increasingly fond of Time On My Hands with its laconic phrasing, its pre-campari wistfulness.
