[=?iso-8859-1?Q?Ole-Petter_Dr=F8nen?= Subject: [AVALON] Ferry in Oslo, CD-tree? I have earlier mailed you about the broadcasting of Bryan's gig at the Norwegian Wood festival in Oslo this summer. They have finished the broadcast now, and I've recorded both part I & II. Total time almost 40 minutes. 10-15 people responded immediately after my last mail where I asked if I should make a CD-tree out of it. Since I also have an excellent audience recording of his show in Oslo in February, I can fill the CD with some of those tunes. Maybe some of those which are not on the Norwegian Wood-recording??? I will of course also make a cover (on photo-paper?expensive but nice). The costs depend on CDr-audio prices, postage/packing (I will not send jewel-cases), cover-paper-quality. I guess each CDr will cost between £ 3&5. Of course on non-profit basis!!! Any thoughts or suggestions ? How have you done this before? Seen that film (Filth and the Fury) myself. Highly recommended to anyone that hasn't seen it yet. - - Yes my movie watching continues apace. Watched 'The Filth and the Fury' last night, Julian Temple directed biog of the Sex Pistols. Imagine my shock to see a lengthy shot of RM doing (from memory sorry if I'm wrong) 'Virginia Plain' with (I think) Steve Jones saying how he thought rock musicians fell from the sky and how he liked RM among others. Just goes to show you doesn't it? Not surprisingly Malcolm McLaren and Nancy Spungen don't come out of it too well. I´m not quite sure myself, because I would put selfdestruction as a typical dandy behaviour, and I´d say that Bryan hasn´t been in to that for the last 22 years or has he? >> He is certainly not the Dorian Gray dandy-type of Oscar Wilde and I would agree on the self-destruction point. However, he does fancy the idea of it so it's just like slipping into an image but not to the very edge, he does this with many things, he seems more interested in the illusion of something, the artistic point within that lifestyle and artistically the dandy lives his life for aesthetic reasons only. Artistically Ferry might finds himself going to the very edge of possibilities, in "real" life he goes for the safe side - it's an interesting (and acceptable) combination, at least it keeps him alive, would not want him to end like Jim Morrison or Nico! ___________________________________________________________________________ Come to Las Vegas and hear the indestructible tagline sing selections from "The Jazz Singer" !
