I think I may have one or two missing, but I will check. The problem is half my collection is on vinyl (obtained at very reasonable prices, eg 50p, at Car Boot Sales) and the rest on CD. I would like to have the whole collection on vinyl at some point, though I think this will take a bit of time. Does anyone know if any of the new stuff from Bryan will be released on vinyl (if only for a limited period), or do you think Virgin could be persuaded to release vinyl editions. Anyway, thanks Julia, I will let you know, Tracy. >From: Julialiva@aol.com >Reply-To: avalon@smoe.org >To: avalon@smoe.org >Subject: Re: [AVALON] :-) >Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 05:58:42 EDT > >Hi Tracy, if I can help you discovering more Roxy-stuff let me know. (Oh no, there's that bias of mine again...) As for brand - new Vinyl pressings, Virgin did do a limited edition of the first 2 I think, some time back, maybe a couple of years, on top quality Vinyl - only down side was the price - around £18. I did get an FYP one of these - but I've never played it - still wrapped up ! Crazy really, I have so many of FYP in various forms, from various countries. It's a disease, I tell you ! A company called 'Simply Vinyl' did call me up last week - as they wanted to release the 'More Than This' comp on Vinyl through their own sources (not sure if they're allowed to do that, but still...). They asked me to lend them the cover - the VINYL cover. I told them it wasn't pressed on Vinyl - am I right about this ? - or was there a limited few ? Anyone on here got it on Vinyl ? Would love to know. They said they did consider each Roxy Album 'individually' - but were unsure of the market for them because of the recent CD Remasters being freely available (apparently, 'Simply Vinyl' only want to do pressings of a minimum 100,000 units for any title - and want to ensure there is enough 'marketability' first). I do, from time to time, get great condition Roxy LPs through the shop (especially the last 3 !) so let me know what you are looking for. Just last week I got the first 5 through in mint condition, but C. Life is all that's left of that batch now. Ferry solo LPs are plentiful too (especially These Foolish Things - they're everywhere !), though the only ones of BFs that are particularly sought after are usually Taxi and Mamouna - as not many were pressed on Vinyl of those 2, particularly Mamouna. Many from the Roxy Vinyl Box Set do turn up too - but never the 'Box' itself...
