We arrived at the holiday Inn - Express at 5.45pm after a 3 hour nightmare journey up the A1,a quick change and fresh-up and I met up with Jim Mclean (who is not on the avalon list, but he knows most of us) who kindly gave us a lift to the concert, he also had a big box of signed & unsigned Bryan Ferry pictures wth him. As we handed our tickets over, security was not going to allow jim into the gig with his box of goodies,in the end he had to hand over the best framed picture to a security girl and put the remainder into a black bin liner(disguised as a picnic).By all accounts he sold most of them as I went to the bar for a beer. It was great to see you guys again, and also some new members, Hans, Rob & Sue Whiteford,Collette & Martin Olive,Tom Wallace, Therese O`Donnell (thanks for the offer of the ticket) and Jocelyn & Reecey. Our man was on top form yet again,`Hard rain` and `Street life` was superb as was OOTB. Ferry on top form during ` the strand` - he looked pretty cool with the shades on, did anyone notice Bryan trying to put the shades into the breast pocket that wasn't there, with a quick smile he safely tucked them away into the inside pocket The summer concerts have been truly fantastic,it is very difficult to choose the best gig,all of them have had `that something special` about them.I hope we can meet up in a few weeks/months, I feel part of a big happy family and have made some good friends this summer. I would like to give a mention to Cecilia who made the trip from Italy via Scotland. See you all soon. There are shows planned in Russia, Madrid isn't sure at this moment but a performance at the expo in Hannover is definitive, They are gone perform with a big orchestra, she was very excited about that one, and it's a full show not a few numbers. She also confirmed that she and otherband members are gone work with Bryan in the studio in the next months. I will sent my review as soon as possible but after seven weeks vacation I'm working again. Not much time left these days. BTW Lucy W gave me her email address :-). It must be very new to them as tickets are not available yet. I'll keep calling them (I live in Nuremberg now but Hannover is my home-town) so as soon as I find out anything new I'll keep you all informed. It is ever so difficult to get tickets for an Expo-event (I already missed a couple of good performances for that reason f.e. "Faust" and "Pina Bausch", it would really annoy me to miss Ferry in my hometown. If he does play the "Arena" it will be something really special, it is an amzing new kind of stadium that holds almost 14.000 people and the Expo itself is the most exciting thing I've seen for a long time, I am already addicted to it - there is so much to discover!!! It would be great to meet some Avalonians up there again. Btw, I wasn't on that list yet but since Castle Howard and getting to know a few of you I had to become a member. The last time I had been in Britain was almost 15 years ago (I did live in Glasgow then and since that time I have hardly spoken English) so I was obviously extremely nervous and excited to meet so many people (and to hear all those different dialects!!!). Without the wonderful help of Tracy Connell (thank you so much for everything, Tracy!) and support of Tom Wallace (great we met, next time in Glasgow and I'll have Lennart with me, ok?) I wouldn't have been able to come over. At least one of my dreams came true: seeing Ferry live again in his home-country and meeting the strongest and most sincere followers of his music! Castle Howard couldn't have been a better place to play - can only be topped by the Expo-performance. Has anybody decided to go to Hannover yet? Hope you all got home safe, see you soon as I know "das spiel geht weiter, wie man weiß, noch viele schönste Wiedersehen". I decided against getting it stitched and went straight home where I just about crashed out. Long way of saying I didn't get to see the Later repeat, having missed it the first time also. Any chance that this is included on the Perfumed Sigh? Or that it is destined for the volume II edition? And Martin, was I getting a copy of volume I?
