Bryan Ferry's Keen On A Touch Of Frost. Mariella Frostrup has struck up an interesting friendship with the Lord of Lounge, Bryan Ferry. The Geordie-born smoothie, married to gorgeous toff Lucy Helmore, was clearly taken with the husky-voiced TV presenter during a night a Home House. The father-of-four was captivated by her charms at a dinner for eccentric artist Sebastian Horsley. Billed as a 'Last Supper', Horsley gathered 12 'disciples' for a last farewell meal before heading for the Phillipines where he is to be - and we're not making this up - 'crucified as part of his latest opus. After dinner Big Bry, 55, and Mazza adjourned to a dark corner where we spotted them being very - ahem - tactile. At one point the blonde beauty was nearly in his lap. The y later slipped away to a VIP room... Even Bryan's agent agrees he has an eye for the ladies. She laughed: "He is a terrible flirt" What a naughty boy. He likes those Scandinavian girls then. Oddly, I have just this moment, before checking e-mails, read a profile of Mariella in the Telegraph online! She SEEMS rather glorious in the article. Sorry to hear otherwise. Some time ago, perhaps in relation to her being a Booker judge, she talked about her favourite books, and mentioned a number of my own faves, including ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE and, best of all, NAPLES 44 by Norman Lewis. To my mind, Lewis is the best writer alive, but in my experience only the most ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL people have heard of him, let alone read him. So I'll give Mariella a great big benefit of the doubt! But Martin, perhaps you can give more details of her 'throaty derision' of Bryan? Can you recall any exact remarks? At one point the blonde beauty was |nearly in his lap. The y later slipped away to a VIP room... | |Even Bryan's agent agrees he has an eye for the ladies. She laughed: "He is |a terrible flirt" What a naughty boy. | | | |He likes those Scandinavian girls then.
