Great fun was it? Hope the remainder of your holiday was as enjoyable. It's so good to hear of the warmth you felt from fellow list members at the gigs. This Avalon community is fantastic! People think I'm off the wall when I tell them about this smart, friendly population that filters into my life via the internet. Impossible, they say. I just smile. I only have to read posts such as yours to reinforce my conviction. I just smile, again. Thank you. Now that she is the "talk" of the town, and continues to be stylish, do ya think that a certain old bloke in leather pants might show up to witness the spectacle(s), incognito of course? ... Why hate Jerry Hall? (I know you don't, Jas.) OK, she had a time with Bryan Ferry - life goes on, or should for anyone well adjusted. I'm not too sure that she did break his heart, as the folklore seems to indicate. After all, how would you feel if your live-in boyfriend split town for an extended period of time to tour, saying on his way out the door, "I'm not going to ring you up because it's too expensive."? I'm sure BF could have afforded the calls, had he really wanted to call - perhaps that was his way of signaling a desire to end their relationship. Really, we know so little of the Hall/Ferry thing that I do not understand how we could love one and hate the other. Oh, and how sad it is to think that Bryan Ferry would possibly, even remotely, desire to see Ms. Hall after all this time (and acquired family) which has passed without an evident friendship in place. Hate Hall because she has an accent?, is beautiful?, has well maintained herself?, can't act with any flexibility?, has distanced herself of yet another womanizer? Why hate Jerry Hall at all? Why is it whenever you read a history about BF/RM, it always refers to a tour promoting the "Bride Stripped Bare" album as being...... "cancelled when ticket sales are poor "...... I can never remember a tour being arranged, let alone being cancelled, or tickets going on sale for such a venture. BF had just came off the successful "In your Mind" tour, started recording the BSB album (which was put back six months) and then reformed Roxy (Aug. 78, a month before the BSB was released), can anyone shed any light on this. As far as I am concerned it is completely false. I'm 100% certain there wasn't a tour arranged in the UK for BSB. Perhaps they mean in the US or mainland Europe? even then i'm doubtful. Like yourself this one has always puzzled me. Around that time I always kept a close eye on the music press and I never saw any mention of a proposed tour to promote the "Bride Stripped Bare" album anywhere.
