I'd really like to replace the Mamouna Tour ones - what on earth happens to the 'unsold' ones anyway ? I thought the 94 tour ones with the 'face' were pretty cool - bought 3 of them (diff. tour dates on back of each) and a couple of diff, green ones, you know how it is. Didn't like the ATGB tour stuff much though. Somewhere, in the deepest darkest recesses of Reece Towers, (actually, it's usually referred to as 'Rumbling Spires', but that's another story) there lurks a Roxy 'Manifesto 79' tour Jacket. Must dig it out. The 75' epalette Shirt job went long long ago. Never went for the Gaucho. Did anyone ? And would they admit it ? Btw the Album covers were cool - though C. Life ain't a fave. They oozed real class, style, sex, glamour, at a time when half the world was obsessed with Roger Dean covers, you know, tripe such as Yes (ok ok, i'm goading Ivor here). The first 3 really, especially the 'ice cream girl' look of Kari-Ann. The inside of the FYP G/fold with the shots of the Band is the best inner sleeve ever. Not that I'm biased, mind. There is a wonderful tidbit in this month's Harpers: Pat Metheny's views on Kenny G. On the whole he is very balanced in his criticism, but he gets apoplectic about Kenny G's "necrophilliac" duet with a tape of Armstrong. The very next article is about the 57 children of Screaming Jay Hawkins, entitled "I put a Sperm In You." Well worth reading. Tony Bennett, who you'd expect to have more class, duets with Billie Holiday - albeit quite well if you can overcome your revulsion at the idea - but the weirdest trend along these lines is the parent/offspring duet. Hank Williams Jr duets with his dad, and Natalie Cole with Nat. The worst possible taste! Tim PS - On an Al Green album released only in Europe, Al duets with Kenny G, who sings in the worst Michael Boltonesque fake soul style imaginable. But when the track finally appeared stateside two or three years later, Kenny had been excised entirely! > ___________________________________________________________________________ Come to Las Vegas and hear the indestructible tagline sing selections from "The Jazz Singer" ! Vozero is an interesting albums as is K-Scope, but they aren't as strong material wise though there are some gems on both. If you like a Steely Dan jazz-ish kind of sound, go for Listen Now. If you like a more hard-edged sound with wailing guitar, try the Quiet Sun CD...
