Ok - a quickie post, it's after 4.40 am and I've just got back from Tatton. Have to be up for a meeting at 08.30, then on to Elton Hall, so if you see me zombified and yawning later you'll know why. No sleep till Peterborough. Tatton was wonderful. It was one of those 'major swerves and body checks' deals that got us to the front - not a big 'dance area' empty like pre Petworth - we only had a yard or so to manouevre. Never thought we'd get there - left London at 1.30, and after a zillion road works, various bad accidents blocking Motorways and horrendous traffic jams - 6 and a half hours later reached Tatton. Nightmare ! Still - we got there eventually (myself, Paul, Ivor). Slightly shorter set - dropped from Set were : The Only Face, Avalon, and - wait for it - Do The Strand ! Never thought he'd drop 'Strand' ! It's also the first ever Bry Gig I've seen where there wasn't an official 'encore'. He went off for oh, 30 secs - Band stayed on, and he came straight back on again. Weird ! White tux was evident in 2nd half, as Petworth. Fireworks started almost as soon as V. Plain finished - was it a mistake ? Who knows - but the gig was suddenly over. The Band & Bry were brill - much laughing, great times for all. Added to the set - the re-introduction of JOOTT from ATGB - and - and this was just amazing - 'Hard Rain' ! (short version). It really worked. Julia and Enricos Blues Bros piece went a bit further during V. Plain - the whole quartet had Shades on too ! Suggest we all do the same at Elton ! See ya there - must grab a little sleep now...
