Heather and Anders were blessed with the arrival of little Torben on April 22 at about 5:30 p.m. (a week late). He weighs 9 pounds, 1 oz. and is 21 inches long. Both Heather and the baby are doing well, and she sounded extremely happy on the phone. She'll have her webpage ready for viewing soon, and there will be pictures of the baby and a guestbook where people can leave messages, but I don't think the guestbook is ready yet. I'll get the url address to you when I get the "green light" from Heather. In the meantime, if any of you would like to send her a message, I can forward them on to her-- Crystal ecwoods@mindspring.com - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Name the source: "I've got enough attitude to kill everyone in New Jersey." ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2000 09:57:44 +0200 From: Cecilia Tonon Subject: Re: [AVALON] Casanova.. details ALAN CARTER: ><< I've aways assumed Casa Nova = Newcastle >> HEIDI GALLO: >The name Casanova translates into new house. The words 'Casa - nova' belongs actually to venetian dialect and means, as Heidi says, new house. (In italian it would be Casa Nuova) I ignore the origin of this antique venetian family name; yet, for your information, I can report this: the legendary person meant with Casanova, Giacomo Casanova, was born in Venice in 1725, died in Bohemia in 1798, was a gambler (?), a diplomatic, a spy and most of all a legendary lover; and was several times in the famous venetian prisons, the ones under the Sighs' Bridge. Venice has celebrated his bicentenary 2 years ago, Casanova became very popular again and for that occasion, among other things, a new disco with the name "Casanova" has been opened.
