The arrangements might not be exactly as Bryan's , but there is enough there to give you the bones of the song for you to play them like Bryan's versions. regards John O'Brien - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon Name the source: "I've got enough attitude to kill everyone in New Jersey." ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2000 11:28:09 -0500 From: "Victor Hastings" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Re: Lyrics and the faded genius [avalon-digest V5 #155] well said. my instruction to BF would be to write up twelve or so songs of new material to be performed and recorded live. no mega-track machines on this one! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Squires" To: Sent: Saturday, April 22, 2000 4:46 AM Subject: Re: [AVALON] Re: Lyrics and the faded genius [avalon-digest V5 #155] > On 18 Apr 2000, at 4:05, Gene wrote: > > > I`d love to produce Ferry`s next album! > > Me too, Gene, I've been wanting to do it for years. > > "Leave it Bryan, it's finished. To turn Kicki's remark on its head, why would Ferry appear unless 'Zimmie' was definitely going to be there? The chances of arranging something memorable for the weekend of 13 May are pretty slim since it seems likely no-one here (myself included) has the resources to plan much in such a short space of time. However, if it goes ahead I think it would be a good idea to extend an invitation to Jim Lawn. My personal preference would be for an 'official' gathering anyway but if people on this list would prefer to go down their own route anyway then I don't see what would be served in NOT inviting Jim. Hello all, My name is Alannah, and I am a Ferry-oholic. I have been lurking on the list for a couple of months now, and have felt WAY too under-educated to pop out and say hello...but I feel bad for hiding! I am 29, female, and live near Boulder, Colorado, USA. I have been a Ferry/Roxy fan since I was 13 or so, thanks to my then-obsession with Duran Duran (they led me to Bowie, Japan, and Roxy...not too bad!). My only chance to see Bryan in concert was this past November, and it was well worth the wait! I am a huge music fan and used to work as a stage hand, doing concert production work at many local venues. Currently I work in an independent record store (which is how I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ferry last November!), and I have been there for 4 years now. My other favourite musicians include David Bowie, Tori Amos, and The Afghan Whigs. My favourite Ferry cd is Bride Stripped Bare and favourite Roxy is For Your Pleasure. I also wanted to come out of hiding because I am desperately looking for Ferry/Roxy bootlegs and they are so often mentioned here! I have some items for trade (ATGB lithographs, posters, flats) or I would be more than happy to pay...please email me for further info. I am also very interested in the recently discussed ATGB Ferry concert performance which aired on tv overseas...when copies are made, count me in, please! Thanks to all for tolerating my babbling!
