This is a bit of a misrepresentation - Street Life, Chance Meeting and Sunset (even Out of the Blue) are by no means over familiar in a live context and you know it! :-) Sunset was, for me, the highlight of the shows I saw, always a favourite song that I never thought I'd see performed live. It was interesting to hear these songs played by the current Ferry orchestra alongside the 30's material. And, yes, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes had to be part of that. So, to spell it out, although I really enjoyed the concerts at the turn of the year, I *personally* could have done without LITD (again), Avalon (again), Jealous Guy (again) and LST (again) and instead would have liked a little more from the current album. Of course I'll make an exception for Do The Strand! OK? The description reads: "A 4-CD boxed set from Britain that' endowed with the suave sense of style that this rock band alone possessed! Along with some 45 or so remastered highlights (Love Is The Drug; More Than This; Mother of Pearl, etc.) from their studio albums is an entire CD of singles, rare B-sides, and 12" mixes, all annotated cut-by-cut by Bryan Ferry himself inside a 72-page five color booklet festooned with outtakes from their one of a kind album cover shoots (Jerry Hall...wow!). A sleek tribute." I was unaware of the cut-by-cut annotations. Can someone tell me more about this? What kind of insights does the master give us? Mike Rathke's amazing textures & riffs: His Long fuzz-tone intro to "Possum" kicks like John Coltrane trapped in the body of Keith Richards. Reed , is now 58 yrs. young . I just want Bryan to kick butt & come out with something that will get a A+ rating. Maybe this collaboration with Stewart & a R &R , album he keeps dangling in front of us eager fans, will happen. after he is finished touring. The intro is pretty good, very VU sounding, but IMO, that`s where it ends. Just more of the swill rut Lou just can`t seem to escape. In all fairness, though, Possum is the only track I`ve heard. >Reed , is now 58 yrs. young . I just want Bryan to kick butt & come out >with something that will get a A+ rating. He sings these teenager songs and sometimes tries to be sentimental. Suddenly, he said : my favorite album now is by a uk singer. You know Roxy Music? The best band in the 70's. I'm listening day and night to that album. Bryan Ferry, who never sand in duet, agreed to sing with me tonight. As time goes by. HORRIBLE! My worst nightmarre. My girlfriend likes this singer. So she started to make all kinds of joke... Just imagine the situation! This guy messed this song up. Now and then Bry look at him thinking... my god! Did he do that to be kind with him or just to appear on tv with a Frech "vedette" to sell more ATGB? I've got in on Tape. It could be interseting for APS 2! I have also other older material from the French and Belgian TV. I just need to make a copy and send it to the person in charge of this second tape.
