This may well be true, but I still reckon that you would have to hear the tracks prior to Eno's treatments being added to judge if they had enhanced the tracks to any extent. I'm not debating your right to like the tracks or not. Am I bored of the beginning ? Before you "flame" me ask yourself if you can bear to hear the tired chord progressions on Editions one more time ? How good is Do The Strand without the lyrics ? Isn't the production on the first album thin ? Aren't Eno's "treatments" fantastically overrated ? No, no, no, noooooooooooooo......... Sorry. The same "old" chord progressions work just fine for me on Editions of You. Glam but basic, to the point and it rocks HARD. I'm sure that was the point when Bryan wrote it. That song and Eno's odd but way before it's time treatments are what drew me to them in the first place. It still give me a thrill. If the stereo is off, anyone within earshot is in danger of my full-voice, full volume "Valerie, please...believe.." or "Well I'm here looking through an old picture frame" So, they let me play it when ever I want. Maybe this has been mentioned before. I was channel surfing last Sunday night (Andrew & Kim : The Sundance Channel) and came upon the movie Braking the Waves. I wish that I had tuned in earlier. I caught the last 20 minutes. I noticed on the closing credits that Virgina Plain was in the film. Had anyone seen this film and could confirm hearing it played? When I get back I will rent the film . Emily Watson was very moving in the parts that I did see.
