What kinda price was it going for? Another Ferry movie reference, aren't "Help me" the final words of Vincent Price in the original, 1958 "The Fly"? In the Jeff Goldblum "Fly" movie, you can hear Help Me playing in the background of the bar where Goldblum rips that guy's arm off while arm-wrestling. - -------------------- To disentangle yourself from these bickering numbnuts, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Mar 2000 10:53:33 -0800 From: Betsy Fowler Subject: [AVALON] Covers All this dreamy film-imagery talk is wonderful, keep it up! We know how **visual** Bryan is... Someone mentioned Bryan's "covers" of songs written by others and it reminded me of his long-standing aversion to this term--for those of you who have not yet seen that masterpiece "A Perfumed Sigh" you will be treated to his opinion: "It's like a horse covering a mare" - which always makes me laugh out loud. Now there's an image for you. Hi! I'm a long-time Roxy Music fan...my first Roxy experience was when I was a mere teen and "Country Life" was released. The fabulous Rachael Donahue was doing mid-days on KMET in Los Angeles and played "A Really Good Time." I was mesmerized. Hooked for life. I'm also a rather big fan of Phil Manzanera. Does anyone know how/where Bryan and Phil met up? I used to have an article that described the circumstances, but I lost the darn thing years ago. I do know that Manzanera was not an original member, but joined before the first album came out. Who did he replace?
