I think it's GBP 10.99. The soundtrack from Ordinary Decent Criminal is also available for pre-order at the same price, I believe. Hello all, Valentine is in fact a little more substantial than was suggested earlier. It will be available in the United States (AB-CD for example are taking advance orders) Here's the full rundown with catalogue numbers: Roxy Music / Brian Eno Valentine (Live '73-'75) BURNING AIRLINES PILOT51 UK 03/20/00 - compact disc - New live collection from Roxy Music. "Valentine" features tracks recorded for the German TV show "Musikladen" between 1973 and 1975, when Brian Eno was still in the band. Limited edition packaging comes in a deluxe slipcase, and the CD comes as an Enhanced CD-ROM with video, as well as audio, tracks for all 12 tracks. Complete track listing is as follows: 1. "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" 2. "If It Takes All Night" 3. "Out Of The Blue" 4. "Psalm" 5. "Street Life" 6. "Virginia Plain" 7. "Do The Strand" 8. "Editions Of You" 9. "All I Want Is You" Regards Chris - -------------------- To disentangle yourself from these bickering numbnuts, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 03:10:57 +0000 From: Bahi Para Subject: Re: [AVALON] Mamouma Some belated and scattered additions to Heather Buch's thoughtful notes about Mamouna. There's a subtle Moroccan theme that runs through much of the album and fits in with almost all that she said. The images once associated with the Moroccan town of Casablanca (and perhaps Tangiers) presented a quirky collection of contrasts - the glamour, the isolation, the sleaze, the sense of danger. An alternative Hollywood. For a cinematic link to Heather's notes on movies and cities, try Von Sternberg's series of films, including Morocco and Blue Angel (starring Dietrich, and featuring Falling in Love Again). Another film reference: Something's Got To Give was going to be a Monroe film, like River of No Return - her last. She was dropped - illness, drug dependency... eventually rehired, she died before it was completed. It's the perfect reference in NYC's lyric, which contains many more. Messrs Young and Reed (Lou, not Jimmy) get their songs World on a String and What Goes On mentioned in Mamouna's fantastic opener. (Both tracks fit so perfectly with Don't Want to Know.) My favourite scene-setting images are in among the pictures on the back of the CD booklet and the inner and outer CD case. Like so much of Bryan's current imagery, their intended effect is subtle. But the way the performer's hat is worn and the carefully applied shadows create a green, five-pointed 'wire frame' star, set against a red background. Look at all three photos, and compare them with the Moroccan flag: A question: The picture on the back of the CD booklet could be said to contain a black heart, or something of that kind. So does the picture on the back of Bête Noire's cover. Any thoughts on its meaning? I will watch the whole thing tomorrow morning after my sinus headache goes away and I can focus a little better. For now, I'm off to bed. The Tylenol PM is starting to kick in. See you guys tomorrow-- Crystal P.S. Martin, your payment is going out tomorrow. Thanks so much for sending the video.
