We applied a fade-out just prior to the promo cutting to an interview. Or in the case of "Spell" on Leno we didn't have the opening minute (but did have Trower's extraordinary 30 second one-note solo). Those kind of problems are frustrating but on balance I considered it better to have half the song rather than nothing. On "Will you love me tomorrow" we had all of the "Later" pared down version so I think you're referring to the promo within the US VH1 slot, which of course doen't meet the APS criteria because any serious Avalonion would have the video from the authorised video collection. Having said that I must confess that I too have fantasisied about Kicki in a nun's habbit. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 07 Feb 2000 09:08:12 +0100 From: "Martin Stockman" Subject: Re: [AVALON] APS Segment Times - ---------- >From: Rod Le Cloux > > 2) Also, does someone have the length of time of each individual video > or the time at which each one starts on the video? Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying. I am sorry that you were disappointed to miss the first half hour of ‘Music on the Line’. Some people feel that we act unlawfully when not complying with our published schedule in Radio Times. Ultimately, our published schedules are offered as a guide and not a contract. When we cover live events the likelihood of fluctuations in advertised timings increases. On these occasions overruns and even underruns are sometimes unavoidable. When these circumstances occur we are careful to ensure that we give as much information as practicable about possible changes before, during and after the programmes affected. Radio Times is published TEN days ahead of schedule but, particularly in the case of a major live event, it often carries alternative schedule information in the event of a possible overrun. I am sorry that you missed Brian Ferry on ‘The National Lottery Stars’ due to the information about his appearance not being in the Radio Times. It is often the case, particularly with live shows such as this, that guests are not confirmed at the time that the publication goes to press. We can only apologise. Please be assured, however, that your comments have been noted and I have passed a copy of your letter on to the relevant department for further consideration. The BBC relies heavily on feedback from its viewers and listeners to continually improve the standard of its programming, so thank you for taking the time to write with your comments. Yours sincerely Sarah Thallon BBC Information ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Feb 2000 22:44:30 -0000 From: "Richard Swift" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Bryan Ferry Tour From Bryan's last Information Service Newsletter (Feb 00) - "We are still awaiting confirmation of dates in Southern Europe (Spain and Portugal). As for Bryan on The National Lottery, I'm told this was very much a last minute appearance. I don't know if Bryan was standing in for someone at short notice or not but it wasn't arranged weeks in advance as most appearances on the programme are.
