And before anyone pipes up about fawning or being treated to Bryan's wine, it was long before I ever met the guy. I find it surprising that a simple remark about the size of Jim Lawn's postbag - aimed solely at adding some perspective about the size of this mailing list - could produce so much criticism. I would guess that there's not more than a handful of people on this list who have much idea at all about the extent of Jim Lawn's role. I'm tempted to *try* to expand on this more myself but can see this running for days if I do. Instead I'm inclined to agree with Colleen that it's a little unfair to debate the issue at all when Jim is not in a position to answer the criticsms raised here (I feel I can say with a lot of confidence that he does NOT currently and has not subscribed to this list in the past - if he's clued up on the list content it's because members of the list that met him on tour told him!). In the meantime I believe that moves are underway to improve this free service and possibly provide it electronically. As with the moves to develop the website perhaps this will more adequately meet people's expectations.
