She certainly was an extraordinary character in her time. Should you have any further interest, please go to: http://www.brynmawr.edu/Library/Docs/corelli.html for a biographic sketch authored by Kathleen Whalen. I figured she'd have a hard time with Roxy mainly because there was an incident where she didn't appreciate the famous painter Millais putting Pears' soap in one of his paintings. She thought he "degraded" himself by doing it for the sake of advertising the soap and therefore couldn't then stand next to Reynolds and Gainesborough. Roxy I think wouldn't have made the distinction of that "high" and "low" art stuff. Not Just the songs, but video too (although the picture is VERY small). I don't know if everyone will be able to load it successfully, but I just clicked on the song title and it started recording. I saved it in a file I created (called, obviously, Bryan Ferry). Just thought you might like to know if you haven't visited the page recently. (Some of his contemporaries were still recording then, so I assumed I'd missed hearing about his 80s work.) >(unless Bahi has a rather spectacular Ouija board). It's on another list. You say that the Shirley & Co version is the same song. You have the record, so unless the credit's wrong on the label, you must be right but you have to admit that it sounds *completely* different. Even lyrically. I can't find my taped copy. There's a web site out there that claims the song was written by Syliva Robinson.
