Johnny mentioned that Bryan says something about recording some covers. Well, it was in 1981 that Bob Clearmountain remixed the Bride Stripped Bare outtakes (Feel The Need and Crazy Love) which turned up on the Windswept ep in 1985. So maybe doing those covers for Flesh And Blood and the success of the Jealous Guy single had kindled some ideas for another covers project. It's possible I suppose. As for that Greenwich concert last night, I switched on at 11.05pm to see the Pet Shop Boys, and being rather confused consulted my copy of Radio Times - 11.15pm as start time, but Ceefax lists it as 10.45pm. Very naughty of the BBC!!! Lucky I switched on when I did as Bryan was up next. Nice gloves, must have been cold. As for the rest I shall not comment, but I did enjoy the Eurythmics' version of Life On Mars, although Annie did seem to be struggling a little. Did Ferry stick around for the finale of Live Aid. His set was in the afternoon, but I never have seen him amongst the 'Feed The World' singalong at the end. >> You can what looks like Bryan when the camara has a shot from the back of the stage looking out towards the audience . It looks like his haircut from behind and the black jacket he wore. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000 19:01:12 +0000 (GMT) From: BaNaNaMaN2000@expressyourself.co.uk Subject: [AVALON] WHIMPER,WHIMPER (Violins Play) - --138504332.947530874119.JavaMail.root@www-a00.dmz.funmail.co.uk Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello mates! A chance to divulge some musical trivia. The tiny overlap comes in the form of 'Both Ends Burning', which both Bryan and Richard have recorded. Before everyone rushes out to evaluate Richard's 'cover' version, it is in fact self penned and concerns a clapped out racehorse. Richard also played with Phil during Expo 92. A tip for all Avalonians - if you grow tired of waiting for Bryan's next album and tour, check out what Thompson is doing - he releases a new album (generally cracking material) and tours most years. - -----Original Message----- From: AMeyersLD@aol.com To: avalon@smoe.org Date: 10 January 2000 03:33 Subject: Re: [AVALON] AVALON Horoscope >........ I thought he may have just sang one song - but three was a great surprise, and also his little interview in the middle. He also wears that beret when he leaves his concerts on tour. He was wearing one in 1995 and in December 1999 when I waited in the freezing cold for him afterwards. He seems quite attached to it. Anyway - we'll know in future to switch on early for programmes on BBC!!! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000 13:22:04 -0800 (PST) From: Neil Ashar Subject: [AVALON] A Scandal in Bohemia - --- Irene Adler wrote: Is that really your name?
