The Second Eon Posting Thanks to Jocelyn for BF downunder info. I will post more info if and when it comes to hand. Thanks to John for trying to get the Strictly Confidential collection to OZ. I am hoping Avalonians can help me answer some other questions. Many years ago I heard a bootleg Roxy album that sounded like rehearsals for Stranded. Lots of stops and starts, mistakes etc but a wild version of Mother of Pearl. I have been searching (fruitlessly thus far) thinking it was called Better than Food but in the Roxy Boot list compiled by the Irish poet Dec O'Phile the info for a boot called Air Treatments seems to fit the bill. Any ideas as to which is the studio or rehearsal outake album? Also is it true that the chorus CPL593H on Re-Make Re-Model was BFs car registration number at the time? Hey its small time time but its been so long since I talked to people interested in this stuff. As I am the target of your implicit criticism I feel duty bound to reply. As other Avalonians I have spoken to will attest, I have privately defended your postings in this group as you act as a counterpoint to the more fanciful elements, but your perpetual self-promotion is becoming very hard to stomach. Nevertheless, two things bear keeping in mind. [Turner, Chris (cturner)] You have never been loathe to polish your ego, in my experience. I've even checked the FAQ, written by, oh yes - YOU. This "problem" epidemic or otherwise is entirely in your imagination. No one else gives it a second look. > I recommend that one should proceed with great > caution before assigning designations of "vile" or "misinform[ation]" to > what--please God--may merely be a wry attempt at humor intended for an > audience of one. [Turner, Chris (cturner)] The reply was from someone purporting to represent a "persona" behind which is a person sub*cribed to this group. It's stretching credibility to imagine that they may be personally injured. I would never, repeat NEVER publish a private correspondence with a "real" person, but only as a courtesy to that person, not as an obligation. Yes, it could have been an attempt at humour, (albeit in poor taste) but as I stated in my original post it is up to the reader to decide. I have reported an event which affects everybody who enjoyed the contributions of the enigmatic Vapor. Vapor is/was highly regarded by many in these parts. (I've ordered 40 UK/Euro style and 40 US style from Jason Gibbs' elves. Other formats can be made up.) Recent subscr*bers unaware of this project should know that about a year ago we asked Avalonions to mail their recordings of TV appearances of Roxy and Bryan to me ; we have tried to use only material not previously shown on the 5 official RM/BF videos. It is essentially a scrapbook of 33 items, either performances, interviews or rare promos, although we have included one celebrated piece that could loosely be described as drama. The quality is variable - transfering video to different formats and back again necessitates a dimunition in picture clarity - yet I believe "A Perfumed Sigh" is still a more thrilling and comprehensive collection than "Total Recall." It should be stressed that this is only available to our community and is not a profit-making project. Here's how we'll do it : 1. Mail me direct with the Subject title : "APS : Order" 2. Give me your Name and Postal address including Postcode/Zip (and country.) 3. I'll email reply acknowledging your order and giving you my address for payment and methods of payment. 4. Cost. £8 Europe. $15 Non-Europe. 5. Don't bother sending a pre-stamped envelope or anything like that . 6. If you were one of the kind lenders of tapes please put on your email exactly what you sent me and I'll return them with a FREE copy of APS.
