Hi all, I have been on this list for about 10 mouths, but this is my first post. I have just come back to Japan from London yesterday. Yes I went to England only to see Bryan!! Is there anybody noticed that a Japanese was there among those fans waiting for Bryan at the back-stage-door after the wonderful concert at Liverpool Royal Court Theatre,Sheffield City hall,London RFH and Croydon fairfield Hall??? Yes,that's me! I enjoyed 4 wonderful concerts and met Bryan 5 times in this tour. In Liverpool,Bryan noticed me and said 'Oh it's you!'and pat on my shoulder. What a happy moment it was,Bryan remembers me! (I have been a fan of Bryan & Roxy for about 25 years and met Bryan almost 15 times in Japan. That's why he remembers me.) I asked Bryan about Japan-tour. His answer was :'I realy hope..maybe..in Spring..' Oh I can't wait Spring to come. In these days there is almost no information about Bryan here in Japan. I can get news from only this AVALON. So please let me know when you get news about Japan-tour. yuko from Japan PS I gave 5 pairs of white socks to Bryan as gift when he came to Japan in 1988. Bryan's white socks was already famous among us Japanese fans then! A small but plucky band of Avalonians braved the snow and icy winds of the North East to see Bryan on home soil. Another brilliant concert albeit without the wonderful Easy Living and Can't Get Started... although my favourite so far remains a toss up between Liverpool and RFH. A great time afterwards chewing over pizza and memories with Jim Lawn, John O'Brien, Gareth, Jocelyn (and friends) and Tom although several other list members were in the bar for pre concert drinks, including Dave Killip attending his final gig before returning home to re-acquaint himself with his family! Barely surviving hypothermia, John, Gareth, Tom and I returned to our trusty bed and breakfast where chat of all things Roxy / Ferry continued to about 3.30 am putting us all in clear contention for a prestigious Anorak Of The Year Award. Sharing a room with JO'B was an experience - more chat until God knows when before slipping into sleep punctuated by various groans and mumblings (transcripts available for a small fee). More lengthy chat in the morning just ahead of being physically removed by the proprietor who seemed anxious to start work preparing for his next day's guests! Truly a memorable evening. He looked great and sounded fantastic, the reception he got in Glasgow surprised even BF I think, everyone I spoke to after the gigs were raving about him. It was also great to talk to, albeit briefly, a lot of people on the list that I met at the three concerts I attended. A great end to the year. Ferry Christmas and a Roxy New Year to everyone. Visit its Ferry entries and you see lots of the usual howlers we know and love - Brian Ferry, Streeet Life - but the lists downloaded by the CD player software are generally excellent, and cover the originals, the remasters, and oddities like the Psalm collection (this one's a bit rough). To make up for the occasional typos in some of the entries, someone with an eye for detail has even included the circumflex in Bête Noire.
