We'll look back at all of this as a very special time indeed. Regarding Richard's amazing story, I would like to add one of my own. After the Croydon gig, I bumped into BF getting into his Croydon Call-a-Cab (1983 Ford Sierra, very long aerial, two resprays), and he asked if he could give me a lift. I was doing nothing else, so I said "OK, are you going near a pub?" He said someting about J.D. Wetherspoon's, and we were off. He had a cassette on him, which he gave to the driver, saying: "shove that into the car radio, mate, and pump up the volume". Well blow me if it wasn't a selection of "avant garde rock'n'roll". "That's brilliant" I said - "it's your next album isn't it?". He said something about release date next year etc. He let me keep the tape, but only on the strict understanding that I never play it to anyone else. Sorry dear Avalonians, but it'll have to stay my secret. We later had a couple of Bud-Lights at the pub, and made our farewells. What a great evening. Hi everybody, Back in rainy Holland again, Boston boot in the stereo an excellent reminder of 'a really good time' in London. First I wanna thank the wonderful Martin and his lovely wife for a very friendly and warm welcome in Wealthy Towers. For me very special to have the chance to experience daily life in London. Surely we spoke about all of you...but I keep my mouth shut. He even improved my English, I now can write and pronounce 'pompeus asshole'. I not only had the chance to meet the family Stockman but also a lot of the Avalonian family. You were all very kind! It was fantastic to meet you. Funny enough Luc is very frequent in Eindhoven were I live and Andrew Langley and his friend Marcel come to Eindhoven very often. Hope to meet you soon again. It was a pleasure to speak with Chris Turner (known as the man who once met the legendary BF) who made the SC-cd possible. The two Davids, Johnny Reece, Chris, Peter, Robert and the beautiful Jocelyn and all those others. With some of you I only had a little chat but I'm sure we do it again and longer the future. At last I know who Flangebracket is.....Robert Fedder! Now we all know it Robert, admit it! Some extra words about the man with who I shared the same bedroom. Our John O'Brien full of wonderful anecdotes about the maestro. Our Perfumed Sighs filled the room that night and it was certainly not the perfumed sigh that Martin loves. John is really a performer and he did a wonderful striptease before the fireplace while I was taken pictures. Beware there is some space on your Website Kicki! The next morning he did a Robin Trower imitation using a children guitar of one of the kids. Something what was really hilarious was our trip in the underground with John. A girl asked him if he was wearing underwear under his kilt (I can tell by the way you smell) but instead of waiting for an answer she put her hand under his skirt and just checked it. It was a pleasure meeting you John. And then the concert: First row places, but I was a bit at the left part of the stage. During the Havana Moon I couldn't see bryan because of the speakers so I moved to the stairs in the middle. Two words: chicken skin. For me just highlights. But the highlights of the highlights: Havana Moon, out of the blue, sunset, streetlife, Casanova, smoke gets in your eyes, just one of those things, September songs. And those wonderful girls. Their enthusiasm was really something. At the end of the show I was so excited that I lost my glasses. Between a jumping crowd I had to crawl and just feel to get it back. And what a wonder it wasn't broken. After the show I spoke with some other Avalonions with Lucy Wilkinson who did these great out of the blue Violinsolo. Very friendly girl. What an evening! Again thanks everybody, your all welcome at my place! I M. K. had talked earlier of this endeavor Bryan is working on. He's always traveled this way. Hopping in a Cab alone to me (I'm sorry Robert) sounds far feched. I'm an intertainer myself, & I know there are measures one goes thru for protection. I am planning a new tele/e-marketing campaign to sell real estate plots on the dark side of the moon in exchange for hard cash; I need to find people who might form my target market. Thank you for your co-operation. I am building a good profile now of the sort of customer that might be interested...could I send you a brochure? PS No, I'm not Flangebracket either - so that narrows down the field (FB, it's time to come forward). Although some of the source quality was poor, we've edited and edited to get a great result - with lots of letterbox format conversion to get a stylish result. I'm trying to get some VHS copies run off from DigiBeta on Saturday to send to Martin so that he can then send them on to as many of you as possible before Xmas or New Year. I'm away from Monday for 2 weeks so I'm pushed to get much more done - but I do think you'll all find that it has been well worth the wait - a finished job that is much more 'detailed' than the typical band-videos you find in the shops. It was a pleasure being able to help everyone out to get this completed - and special thanks must go to Kicki for the cover design and to Martin for holding the whole thing together. The video contains many gems including Mother of Pearl live, Anthony Price, Richard Hamilton, Jools Holland interview, The Thrill of It all live, Ferry in a farcical French soap opera (has to be seen!), and MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more. I guess Martin will be arranging the distribution of this so . . . .over to you Martin! Enjoy!
