I just read in Unknown Pleasures that Mackay stated: 'By the time time you get to Avalon 90 percent of it (the songs) was being written in the studio...For the last 3 albums, quite frankly, there was a lot more drugs around as well, which was good and bad. It created a lot of paranoia and a lot of spaced out stuff." - - Brian Folks Jay Siekierski wrote: > > I have an article in Rolling Stone I believe '80. I can't say that I noticed any 'country types'. Instead, there were alot of women dressed to the nines .. at least one with gloves and veiled hat, many long skirts or very fancy dresses .. generally alot of folks dressed "up" from the typical concert garb. There were guys in suits & ties, possibly straight from work. I was very close and didn't see any Crazy Horse Saloon or Cowboy Boogie types .. possibly there were some at the rear. I'm not sure what Bryan would've meant by that remark. The crowds who joined him onstage or who were right in front of him in the pit, during Do The Strand, were also very well dressed .. and those are the ones he would've gotten a good look at.
