Hi I wasn't able to sent or receive any post the last few days. So if anyone has sent me private mail, please do it again. It seems that the post of those days is lost. I'm sorry! Arnie, I got your mail and mailed David. Thank you all. You can therefore imagine my surprise when I poured home at 3.30 this am to find that I am, in fact, a winner too! I therefore have 2 tickets available for Monday. Anyone? See (some) of you there. Davdmock has burned several "masters" for distribution to the Area Captains. The Area Captains are: John O'Brien (U.K.) at JObinv01@aol.com Han (All the world except U.K., USA and Canada) at snijders.geest@freeler.nl Ricia (Canada) at ricia89@plasticgirl.mail22.com and the American captains: Bruce McQueen at macq@erols.com Jim Rosencutter at rosencut@southwind.net and Jeffrey Jones at jefffj@erinet.com There may be others who will come out and volunteer to copy but at the moment these are the contact persons. So make your requests to the appropriate captain. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I'm sure it will, nonetheless be a great, intimate venue if it's as small as we believe. I spoke to Jim Lawn today who did say however that the first concert at Newcastle is being filmed. Martin - how is your research going? Realistically there's not much scope for much of a drink before the concert - did you say there's a bar in the theatre that may be open beforehand? A good venue for after the show is probably more important! Here's a map of the area ... http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=525750&Y=187250 You'll see the Golders Green Hippodrome on the left, second grid down. As I mentioned in last night's rather drunken post this pub called the Old Bull and Bush is a 10 minute walk up the North End Road but I now reckon it would be worth it. Some of us will have cars and we can all pile in. Then you can roll down the hill to the Tube station at chucking out time. I think we should meet up around 7 outside the venue. We should recognise each other from our site photos. (Add weight and subtract hair in the case of most men I suspect !) No doubt John O'B will be sporting a tour t shirt regardless of whatever us softie southerners consider inclement weather. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Dec 1999 16:43:31 +0800 From: Kicki Gustafsson Subject: Re: [AVALON] GG : Where or when ? > >http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=525750&Y=187250 > seeing this map almost brings tears to my eyes. I lived in Constable Close, which you get to if you continue Wildwood Road up. Our house (well, my au pair-family) was directly beside the Hampstead Heath Extension. When I walked from the tube to the house, I always went Finchley road up, and then turned right on Hoop Lane. On Wellgarth Road there's a youth hostel where my beset friend used to stay when she was between families. I just cannot believe that Bryan Ferry is having a concert in Golders Green of all places!! And I won't be there. *aaarrrghhhhh* /Kicki G - --------------------------- Kicki Gustafsson http://www.torget.se/users/k/KickiG kicki.gustafsson@op.se - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Dec 1999 15:55:29 -0000 From: "David Squires" Subject: [AVALON] UK Shows... avalon-digest V4 #396 On 4 Dec 99, at 4:05, JO'B wrote: > This is the latest list of people going to the UK shows :- > > are there any changes or additions > > 15 Croydon Fairfield > David Killip (and friend Mark) > Jocelyn Fiske > Robert Fedder > Martin Stockman David Squires and, of course, 6 Golders Green Hippodrome David - -- David Squires Wimbotsham Norfolk UK - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Dec 1999 10:24:31 -0800 From: Bill Subject: Re: [AVALON] Boston Boot cd Status Report Thanks so much! I got two tickets as well - but I can only use one seat unless I am lucky enough to persuade one of the good looking temps at work to come too. I am hoping they haven't overs*bscribed the event just to ensure a full auditorium. I think as it says on the comp slip it will end at 10pm it might be better if we concentrated on drinks afterwards - and concentrated on seats before....so I vote for pre-event drinks in the Hippo's own bar.
