It will be annoying not to have the total set in the one format however (ps. if there is a Roxy reformation what say: no backing singers and no arguments just Eno, Phil and Andy doing CPL-593H????????) Thank you for contacting www.HMV.com. We have checked with our Fulfillment Centre and they have confirmed that most of the cardboard sleeve copies of the Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry remasters have been sold out. The cardboard edition of the remasters were extremely limited and are no longer available from our supplier. Although your Roxy Music CD's have already been shipped to you, we have asked our Fulfillment staff to pay close attention to the rest of your order. They will try to send you any cardboard copies that they can find, but we can offer no guarantees. Whose had it been? His mother's? I remember Monday night (this was monumental at the time!) Bryan had looked at me for a moment and then down and I think he was looking at the scarf I was wearing which could be similar to the one he is wearing in the photo (which you will all see soon as we get the photos on the site). What's the story again? BTW, Bryan was checking out Dawne Monday night too cause she was dancing in the aisles! Go, Dawne! The ltd. edn. ones (cardboard) are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I asked for another whole set of Roxy and Bry a couple of weeks back - but just ended up with Mamouna on that format - the other titles I got came in the normal 'jewel case' editions, so it looks like they'll be the 'norm' from now on. I have no doubt there is plenty around, but they'll be so 'spread out' over many, many CD/Record Shops, tracking them down would be a difficult exercise (unless you have many Phone Books and days to spend on the phone...) Still, I'll keep trying through a few contacts I've got - will let you know should any come to light. Unfortunately there seems to be so few about that many of the 'big' stores are aware of this so the prices of the ltd. edn. ones seem to be going up almost 'at will' which is totally wrong. Even I got only a couple of full sets into my Shop some time back, and refused to put them out for more than £10 each, which is a good price here in the UK, considering the crazy £15 and £16 ones often quoted by the normal big rip-off conglomerates. But, I've struggled to get them since. All I have left are just a few of the 'jewel case' normal re-mastered ones. Will keep you posted though - still trying to get the others... Colleen: (did I spell it right?) > You can love something or someone passionately and still be very aware of their flaws. Have you and my girlfriend met? ;-). Well somehow, my message/tome about lists/chat sites, and how things can go wrong and get needlessly divisive, never made it through. Filter/Censor? Too bad. For those of us that have been on the net a while, these things seem to come and go, and some people stop being able to be bothered, seeing so much as just an effect of the medium. I never see as much arguing and fueds in real life. People usually try and work it out, or agree to disagree, or avoid disagreement. I do agree that I much prefer this were "Land of the Happy Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music Fans" place. I've been on both sides of these fued/flame things. Defended and attacked, most handily. Snore. I am jaded by now. Is it worth it? What's the purpose? Therapy, entertainment? Opposites attract? It is a good time. Bryan is touring, a new CD is out. Somewhere there are mini-Bryan Ferrys, named Merlin, Otis, Isaac, and Tara-. And I get to see Bryan sunday night (barring this Dr. Simon Puxley news). - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1999 14:53:13 -0800 From: "eman96" Subject: [AVALON] Humour That was all meant with a sence of humour, now, 'kay? e - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1999 18:45:46 -0500 From: "Janice O'Shea" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Set Lists Here's the set list from the Beacon, NYC 11/22/94. Perhaps because its tone is so dense and rich-sounding, even Mamouna is improved - its voices, percussion, and Enotica make the most of their new-found space. Mr Reece, where in London is your shop? It sounds fantastic. I've wondered since hearing Taxi's first single - released before the album, and a top 30 hit - whether its engineer Richard T Norris was really Richard Norris of The Grid. There was once (and perhaps still is) a web site that suggested that he was. Well, T and T-less are both appearing on stage together soon, and I'm reliably informed that they're not related, though T is apparently a 'really nice bloke' and T-less is the main man behind the gig. It's at The Social in London's Little Portland St, if you're interested. Bahi Johnny Reece wrote: >The ltd. edn. ones (cardboard) are becoming increasingly >difficult to find.
