Richard, I only meant that record sales mean squat in the context of the artist's integrity; the two have no direct correlation. If that came off sounding like I don't care if Bryan sells any records, well, I apologize. Still, the world has bigger problems to worry about - like ethnic cleansing. > > I don't believe Bryan will attract buyers in the teenage market even if he > makes the finest record in popular music history - the point I make is that > there is simply a huge market out there that grew up with his music and > would probably buy it again if they knew it existed and the product was > right. People bought Bryan's records in large numbers mostly in the 70's, and it was on LP. I doubt this means that too many of those people were affected in the way that we were. People buy albums all the time just to hear one song, that doesn't make someone a music lover. Where are all these people now, on Mars? The media has been covering the new release, so why don't these same people buy it if they're truly 'fans'. Why don't they ask their radio station to play some of it... or just go down to HMV, put on the headphones and listen. Dare I say (and duck the flames), it's because they bought Roxy Music or FYP when they were fourteen, but they just don't give a damn anymore! Am I contending that fourteen year olds love their music more than adults? Actually, YES. I just don't think it's fair to expect a rock music artist and his(her) audience to evolve together, necessarily. Nor for the artist to scoop up a younger generation. Maybe it's just a cruel reality - like being a football player - that you better plan a second livelihood in that business for after you turn thirty-five. I wish I had a better answer. But what in the dickens is up with the microphones they are giving Bryan to use. I think we have had reports about microphone problems at every show so far. I know we had sound / mic problems at the beginning of the NYC show. Other wise the sound was great. In regards to Mr.. John Punter. Mr. Punter is a long time & very famous behind the scenes associate to both Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. John is either credited for engineering or producing ( and in some cases both ) some of the best early Roxy Music & Bryan Ferry solo albums. For Your Pleasure, Country Life and These Foolish Things just to name a small few. He even did some drumming duties on a few earlier Ferry solo songs.
