Going through this mail reminds me of a classic episode of "The Likely Lads" (apologies to non UK readers - again) where they go to extraordinary lengths to avoid the result of a big English International football match and, having finally got to the stage where they can sit down to watch the recorded hilights they find the game was postponed. Obviously I don't want to draw too many parallels here (cancelled concerts - God forbid) but I'm failing miserably in avoiding details of songs on the tour - so far I've unwittingly found out that Bitter Sweet, Do The Strand, Jealous Guy, The Only Face (or was it The 39 Steps), Casanova etc. etc. were performed. Ah well! At least it brought to mind The Likely Lads episode. However 8"x10" copies can also be ordered for, typically, £10 each. All I know at the mo is that it should be either Nov 21 or 28 for a start date, apparently. Meanwhile, all the talk of Dbl Albums got me thinking - 'The Beatles' has indeed got to be up there somewhere, and i'd go for 'Face To Face' - the 'Live' LP from Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel as one of my faves. Are 'comps' allowed ? Well, the 'American Graffitti' Soundtrack is up there if so - brill atmosphere. Reminds me of the movie which is a great fave of mine. Previously mentioned too - Todd Rundgren - only discovered that one recently - great songs. I'm off now to dig out some of my old Vid tapes - (at the suggestion of Richard) - I really have to see the superb 'Likely Lads' once again.... I do have one question for the English majors... I feel the last line of the song shouldn't be in quotes. I doubt Miss Otis actually says that line before she dies. Yet as the line is the title of the song, would that somehow in the hierarchy of punctuatiion dictate quotes? greggie/atlanta "Before you say anything, I already know I abuse ellipses..." - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V4 #352 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
