Hi Alex There is a promo video of it, Ferry wearing a leatherjacket, shirt with a bowtie (Is that the right word? propeller maybe is a better one) And behind him there's a big fire. Some of the shot's Bryan is sitting in a cinema, watching the screen with his own performance. A bit like the picture inside The Bride. I heard he did this one live in the beginning of the Avalontour but they stopped performing it. (to difficult to sing live?). I have never seen of heard a live performance of this one. Let me apologise for my English: I almost send this mail with the word letterjacket instead of leatherjacket. Haha. Colleen thanks for your wonderful review. The orchestra is quite impressive: piano, bass, guitar, drums, a four-piece horn section, a four-piece string section, and a harp player who doubled on percussion and even sang a bit of backup. The show featured about 5 songs from the new record, plus a handful of various oldies. "Here's another blast from the past," Bryan said as way of introducing "Let's Stick Together." Other oldies included Avalon, Havana Moon, Do the Strand, Jealous Guy, and a few others I am sure I am forgetting. The show was sold out, and Bryan really seemed to be enjoying himself. It was clear to me that this album and tour is more of a labour of love for him, and it really came through in his performance. steve - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Nov 1999 16:51:44 EST From: Helchat@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Re:MoreThanThisVideo? He, Phil Collins, and Steve Hackett recorded a new version of "The Carpet Crawlers" for the recently-released greatest hits CD with current members Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. Gabriel also rerecorded some vocals for the recent Genesis boxed set. - --Don - -- Don Becker don@adelphi.edu http://becker.adelphi.edu Unix System Administrator, Adelphi University http://www.adelphi.edu - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Nov 1999 23:47:04 +0100 From: Kicki Gustafsson Subject: [AVALON] No 32 Robert Whiteford is the 32nd listmember on the Avalonsite. The merchandising consisted of black or white polo shirts, a couple of t-shirts (one with the "30's" scene in tan and brown), a coffee mug with symbol and Ferry's name, posters, a program, and a scarf/wall hanging thing. I will only add that I loved the closeness of the show in DC. Although, the club and surrounding area was a little on the shady side, I felt that the venue was perfect to open the tour because of the personal advantage it offered to Ferry who seemed to need the boost of energy from the crowd to get started......after that, it was all his show. The horn section sounded extremely good and you can tell a lot of time and effort went into choosing all of the players. A great time, a great show and a great man. Enough said.
