OK so I'm off work today and the family go to Bluewater - which for those of you not in the UK is a MASSIVE shopping complex in Essex ( I Think!). So I go to the the Virgin Megastore. Not noticing Ferry in the window (or his album!) I went inside confident of just walking to the new releases section and picking up one of many ATGB's. But I couldn't see it (this is 11-30 am by the way so no excuse for not unpacking on a Monday morning). Every other new album on show including Bernard Butler and others. I walked round 3 times and couldn't see it. Having already seen Ferry (at no 10 in the jokey WH Smith chart) and barrowloads of ATGB's in the HMV store I thought I must have made a mistake or gone blind. So I asked at the desk where a very helpful and pleasant assistant looked it up on computer. They found it and sold me one. During the conversation with the girl I politely asked her why it wasn't in the new releases amongst the chart stuff. She said "Yeah I couldn't believe it when you said this was new because we only had FIVE copies delivered. " Also they said it wasn't on vinyl although I suspect they might be wrong. But seriously does anyone here know anybody at Virgin of where Ferrys management could be contacted. ?He needs all the help he can get to chart and he ISN't getting it from Virgin. They seem as much use as a handbrake in a canoe. What the hell are they playing at the Bluewater store? I'd like an explanation from them. Can anyone help? I can see this becoming an album that gets pulled out rarely.. maybe a Christmas type of fondness (shudder). On the other hand, I disagree that Bryan's voice is washed up.
