I'd love to hear either of the outtakes from the Windswept EP in their earlier states. The remixing puts a mid 80s sheen on music that was recorded and mixed in a deliberately earthy way. All that top changes its character. Well folks tickets for the Chicago Leg of the tour go on sale here on Saturday morning. He will play here on November 11 and it's reserved seating. There is a full page ad announcing the concert in a weekly paper called the Reader ( Heather: you might know this one). The ad announces that he will be singing "CLASSIC SONGS FORM THE 30'S". The ad has a picture of Bryan looking Rrater wistful against a wall with a sketch of Cafe Society types at a nightclub ( looks like circa 1950's to me). I guess there will be a smathering of "Society" types at this concert by the way it is being marketed. A coincidence? I dunno. I DO know that across the street from the venue where he will be playing, there is a club called the Green Mill where a lot of jazz musicians play frequently. Maybe he might hang out there after the concert. I just hope to get a photo AND an autograph. I will now have to go to the basement to try to find that Circus Interview of 24 years ago with a pic of him with the Sirens. It's the same one he refused to sign when I got into the back of his limo with him after the Manifesto tour concert in 1979. Coincidently, the same theatre just happens to be across the street from where he will be playing on November 11. I will post a full report for my efforts after the concert. I WILL PREVAIL!!!! Excellent sightlines and a very intimate spot (although not quite as intimate as the old one, but the other tradeoffs more than make up for that). There are bleacher-type seats in the balcony and I also believe that the bar in the balcony has some tables and chairs as well. ] Gee, this place almost sounds like the place where Bryan is playing in Chicago, the Riviera. However, it will be reserved seating for the Riviera which normally does not have seating on the first floor. Chan - & wfs, for giving the NetAid link info). I have a few questions and thought someone out there might know - forgive me if these were posted before: 1) Are there any planned BF US TV concert appearances (Sessions on West 54th St. or VH1, for example) or US radio concert appearances (such as World Cafe) for BF? 2) Is there a better address to post to than avalon@smoe.org? Neither of my two posts worked, so I'm replying to a message this time (per Chan's advice) 3) Does anyone know about a program called WinRAR? Just got sent a document processed with it & don't totally trust it or know how to work it. Thanks for your help, G. PS: Getting good concert tix may not be a problem - After tickets were sold out on the Mamouna tour in NY, I was able to get scalped 3rd row seats for face value a few hours before the show (not to promote scalping - just letting you know) - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V4 #310 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
