No line ups, in fact no customers there at all at 10 am when tix went on sale. This is always the case at this place except I guess when Britny Spears hits town. Anyway the clerk connected to their system a few seconds after 10 and I got 6th row center. I will be getting my tics in person and hoping no boys bands, etc. go on sale the same day and time. BTW, Ticketmaster has 3 seating charts for the Sun Theatre and I called the Sun and the one for BF will be plan C with general admission standing in front of the stage. Seating is in the 2nd tier area. I've never been to the Sun Theatre so I can't say much more about the set up there. The theater is right near The Pond and Edison Field. Any other Avalonians in LA? Okay, it's the Ferry equivalent of a coffee-table book and it probably won't hold your interest if you've played Boys and Girls thousands of times and have considered each and every interpretation of Valentine but the suited crooner doing cover versions is the Bryan Ferry that the UK public buys into. As Time Goes By could be this year's soundtrack to the drunken city office parties and the tearful jukebox experiences. Ferry laughs all the way to the very discreet banking and accounting people who fool the Sunday Times and Q each year, the funds roll in, and that album of originals in the vaults gets a Morales remix. Thanks, Chan. Bahi PS. William Sommers, you have my sympathy. I hope you manage to get back something that's close to the original collection. Jim, Thanks for the kind notage...yeah, I have been rather quiet as of late, my mind clouded with other things. But it's like the most terrific news that the Maestro will be TOURING again!!!! Unreal! Unfortunately, I will be not heading for Boston, it is a bit far from San Francisco area, but I could swing a Vegas show...And yes, you are making such a big sacrifice to miss the Ferry show....Your wife is lucky to have such a cool guy for a husband. And you think I should go directly to the box office to get tix for the Oakland, CA show as opposed to going to Ticketmaster??? I could make the hour or so drive to Oakland and do it.... hmmmm. Feedback from all of you is most welcome. I am getting mixed ideas as to what to do...I shall have to call the venue in Oakland and see what they think, or if it is possible. So it's Vegas, baby, yeah (say it like another 'Brit,' Austin Powers)!!! Haven't heard of anyone really except The Crazy World of Arthur Brown doing A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall hmmm wasn't that a Bob Dylan song? My favorite name is The Dead Jerry Halls. Have yet to ear this. Also bought the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack Not only saw it but bought it for $9.99 at Blockbuster It was flawed but really captured the moments I thought and I didn't think Jack Ferry resembled or was even any part of Bryan Ferry at all except for the name Janeen - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Oct 1999 09:30:09 +0200 From: "Han Snijders en Willy v/d Geest" Subject: Re: [AVALON] ticket buying Interesting article http://exclaim@exclaim.ca/index2.html regards Han - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V4 #301 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
