No one can hide from me, not after playing Midtown Madness-Chicago Edition. Anyone else have that game, it lets you drive around Chi in your choice of 7 or 8 really nice cars, including the Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe or maybe a nice 4.6 litre Mustang GT. After winning a few races you can step up to a sweet '67 fastback Mustang or even a Century Freightliner. Pretty f'n cool. Seems like a fairly accurate representation of the Windy City from what I remember. You can even blast through Shedd's Aquarium at very high speed. He does, however, appear on the next 2 albums from '77 Zappa in New York and Studio Tan, but is gone again by the next release Sleep Dirt. Interesting though is that on Sheik Yerbouti we have Patrick O'Hearn, who also appears on a few other Zappa discs, Adrian Belew, and Peter Wolf. Sticking with the 1977 tour, how about Mel Collins, Martin Drover and Chris Mercer - a great horn section. I can only hope and pray for Mackay...but I no it is very slim that he'll tour the US with Bryan...Speaking of Mackay, anyone know what he is doing??? I only hear about Manzanera and Jobson... - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Sep 1999 23:38:26 -0400 From: "Gregory A. Evidently "All the Way From Memphis" is a song by Roxy Music. Has anyone else heard of this? Also, I was just on vacation in Naples, Florida and I found both cd singles for "Happiness" by the Blue Nile! I've become quite a dedicated BN fan recently and with every release I find i'm becoming more hard core as a fan. The song "Wish Me Well" was on non-stop seemingly throughout the remainder of my vacation... Jeez- these guys are amazing... greggie/atlanta "wish me well, and let me go... the dreams that we had are over it seems..." - -the Blue Nile 1996 - --------------A75BFA03B607FF4E700DB113-- - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Sep 1999 20:48:49 -0700 From: pricie1@ix.netcom.com Subject: [none] My name is Frank. Just heard on Chicago's radio station XRT that Bryan will play Riviera and tickets will be sold for reserved seating. No dates were mentioned. paul. Paul, did Teri Hemmert (XRT DJ and BIG Roxy Fan) make the announcement this morning? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it!!!!! I live two blocks from the theatre. I pass by there every morning on the way to work (Heather: the Red line to the Loop). It's across the street from the elegant and now shuttered Uptown, where Roxy played on the 1979 Manifesto tour. It's also the scene of my close encounter with him in the back of the limo. I can't wait to try again. This time I get the autograph.... and a photo. Now have to figure out what to wear. Decisions, decisions,....... About the only thing that will dash my dream is that he plays the Riviera on Nov. 2 or Nov. 3 (I have exams-again YEECH!!!).
