Saw the last half hour of "Legend" on TV this morning and, of course, heard "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" over the closing credits. Questions: Who plays sax on this track? It sure sounds like Branford Marsalis and, if it's not, may I suggest a collaboration between the Maestro and Branford at some time in the future? I would salivate at the thought of those two working together with Branford's sinuous sax weaving through BF's songs. How about the two of them together on "Casanova"? WOW! Also, who's the guitar player on the track? Next Sunday, Sept. 5. the E-True Hollywood Story will profile Mick and Jerri. Of course it will highlight the stormy relationship of the recently annuled couple, but you can bet that Bryan will figure prominately at the beginning of the story. I don't know who that are going to interview to give details, but I'm sure that someone close to Bryan and Jerri at the time ( Anthony Price perhaps) will have something to say. For those on the list who are not familiar with the E-True Hollywood Story, it is a weekly program, on cable, that disects celebrities who have been in the spotlight current or past. It has gotten to be a must see. These are not puff pieces about those in the spotlight, but exposes the ups and especially the downside of fame-warts and all. Tonight it profiled Sean Penn and Madonna (yeah I know but I like Madonna), which is how I found out aobut Mick and Jerri. It is the Hollywood version of Behind the Music which itself profiles music celebrities-also a must see. It has profiled even the most god awful singer/musicians, exposed their dark side, and made you feel sympatheic for them. I mean who knew that former teen hearthrob Leif Garrett(whaaaaa????) has an onging Herion problem or that Donny Osmond suffered from smiling so much and being too cute for his own good ( who cares right, but hey....). It seems anybody who is anybody in the business has been profiled with the expection of Bryan and Roxy ( well the Stones too but it's only a matter of time). Musicians are dying, literally, to get a profile on this program. One can only hope that if Bryan wants to get some exposure here in America, with the new release and tour coming up, someone in his camp will float the idea to VH1. Maybe even somone asking for a segment of Where are they Now ( another VH1 program)on Roxy Music. Come to think of it, I'll send that letter in myself. At least Sophie B. Hawkins was on that show and there was a reference(and a photo) to her being fired by Bryan as a percussionist before her first hit record. Jas PS Welcome to Jesa. Look forward to any inside info that you might like to share. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Aug 1999 23:16:56 -0700 From: "jesa" Subject: Re: [AVALON]Off the topic...Joan Armatrading I just saw her at the WOMAD festival here in Seattle.
