Remaking/Remodeling Roxy Music" put out by ex-DuranDuran John Taylor. The record was released about a year and a half ago via the internet only. Although John Taylor is no longer involved with B5, B5 will most likely be reissuing the CD in a few months through John's official website, TTP (TrustTheProcess). - -- from www.frontstage.be (8-6-99) - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Aug 1999 13:44:46 -0400 From: Heather Buch Subject: Re: Re: Re: [AVALON] Catching Up - --_uReach_com_26916734993404788624335xxx_ Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Avalon is really great. It's an enchanting, beautiful album that you instantly like (unlike a lot of the earlier stuff which is also great, but not so immediately accesible). And it is a defining moment for Roxy Music. It was their last album before Ferry went solo, and was sort of the culmination of the direction Roxy (and especially Ferry) had been moving in years prior, a more heavily produced, mature sound. For all it's "maturity," Avalon is still famous as the "ultimate makeout record." and I know that was true in the 80's when we listened to it. Of course, you really need to experience the album for yourself. I can't imagine it would be out of print! ButI bought my CD copy about 3 years ago, so maybe it is. That just seems wierd, it's like if Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band were just suddenly "out of print." Well, why don't you try that site where they are supposedly offering the Roxy reissues for $7.74 each. I think it was www.absound.com. Ciao!
