I'm hardly the list intellectual, but Glen I think you are giving Vapor way too much credit for his, ahem, inspiration. Celine, it ain't. I tend to think of him instead as our very own low rent William Burroughs. Nice stuff Gene. I see this was from the infamous "mustache" era, what a treat for you guys. Had to think, the first time I saw Roxy they were doing the airline look, and my seats were not very close, so I don't know if I saw a mustache show or not. It had to be somewhere around that time frame. I don't think Eddie was with them that time. It was a show where either they opened for Babe Ruth or BR opened for Roxy. BTW Babe Ruth was FANTASTIC! This was on the "Country Life" tour, so pre-moustache, it also goes on to say that Andy Warhol was in the audience. I knew Roxy toured in '76 with Gary Wright and Quicksilver Messenger Service, but I didn`t know they also toured with, yeeech!.... Angel? I remember a friend bought their album and their name was written so that it could be read up side down. We used to joke that it was geared to stupid people who couldn`t figure out which side of the album was up. I also remember the song line-up closely resembled the tracks found on the various bootlegs including the '75 New York/London tracks with the opening song being Out Of The Blue like on the Viva Live album. This is really interesting because the 3/8/76 Hemspstead, N.Y. bootleg (recorded 2 weeks after the N.O. show) has the line-up found on the '76 Stockholm bootleg recorded that October. I wonder if they used the two different sets to perhaps break up the monotony? They all look great. I'm sorry that I was not able to be at any of the shows during that tour-very sorry.:( BTW was Chicago a stop on that tour? If it was then I know I would not have made it. I had temporarily (1976-1978) moved to LA. On another thread, has anyone seen the late commercials for Old Navy? Notice anyone we know vamping it up with a much younger man on her arm ( no I was not expecting and aging lothario nor a reclusive country squire)? Yep it's our SIREN, Ms. Jerri Hall. Maybe she thinks it's time to hit the catwalks and do commercials again. Keeping the kids in diapers and nannies, alone, is expensive these days. Hey, she could do album covers again. Methinks someone with a "possible" future release might entertain the idea of nostalgia/regret/irony as a selling point.
