Roxy b-side incidentally) which is in fact running backwards! The other one is the last few bars of "India" appear at the start of "While my heart". I managed to pull a scam last year and got my box set changed, "South Downs" is still the same, but "HSB" has been corrected. I think he was right. Live Aid was not an occassion for pushing one's latest album... Important observation: I just bought "Let's Stick Together" on CD and was reminded that among the chorusgirls on that album we find Doreen Chanter and Jacqui Sullivan, a.k.a The Sirens. On the subject of B sides, Sultanesque is a favourite, though I've not heard it for years. The Numberer is wonderful too... Sophie B Hawkins was to be a percussionist in Ferry's tour band and she played for a large stretch of the rehearsals but was fired before the tour began. This info is from the web some years back and I'm not sure which tour this was - presumably Bete Noire (New Town). An interesting collection of quotes have been attributed to her on this subject - again, this is the web so don't rely on their authenticity but one report said that she wrote "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover" the day after she was fired. Another said she wrote it about Bryan. Bryan told her, said yet another snippet, that the band loved her but that her style didn't fit in or was too much her own. I've forgotten the details. The song, of course, suggests a different story and may even contain an ironic Slave to Love reference in there somewhere, though I might be imagining it. Another Sophie quote said that Bryan replaced her with the percussionist from his album. Didn't Steve Scales play percussion for the New Town tour? He's not credited on Bete Noire. Perhaps I'm mixing up all the details and only Google and Alta Vista know.
