I have an excellent stereo recording of Live Aid & Hans Snijders has several one off live performances (Later With Jools Holland etc) to add to the RFH recordings to make it up to a decent length CD of Rare live stuff. Hans has offered to do the mastering after he receives my Live Aid and Andy's RFH then the CD tree can start from there. What do you mean, Parker and Coltrane didn't influence anybody? That is the silliest remark I've seen in some time. They influenced thousands of musicians. Andy McKay would probably punch you in the face for that. Quite right too. But what has influence got to do with anything anyway? Excellence doesn't always lead to influence - sometimes, in fact, it can't, because most people can't attain excellence. Charlie Parker's influence on people who can only play three notes is necessarily limited. If influence counts for everything, why isn't Donna Summer on the list? She has certainly been influential And Take That are probably more influential, in fact, than any of the nineties groups boring old Q readers admire. ( I'm quite fond of both Donna and Take That.) If I remember rightly the album was called Heineken Night Of The Proms '95 and it, together with the catalogue number was mentioned in one of Jim Lawn's newsletters at the time. I will dig this out if you want more information. I think there are four tracks on it - someone posted the track listing a day or two ago and I seem to recall three of the songs were "Slave To Love", "Let's Stick Together" and "Hey Jude". Any more info anyone (especially where this might still be available?) I was never much of a Beatles fan either and I grew up amid all the Beatlemaina. Don`t get me wrong. They put some some fun stuff, but the "White Album" is the only one I consider worthy of a listen if for no other reason than Clampton`s guitar on "As My Guitar Gentely Weeps." I`ll even go as far as to say Sgt. Pepper was the most rediculous album I ever heard. Mr. Kite still leaves me slacked-jawed. To this day, "All This and W.W. II" is as close as I ever got to owning a Beatles album.
