I agree with you, the whole package is great, but some are just wonderful, like "America is waiting" and "Mea Culpa". Me thinks "America is waiting" was featured in the Antony Price Fashion Extravaganza at the Camden Palace in London, summer 1983, it fitted b-e-a-u-t-i-fully. *sigh* Kicki - ------------------------ Kicki Gustafsson, Östersunds-Posten 063-16 16 51 http://www.op.se http://www.torget.se/users/k/KickiG (privat hemsida) - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Jun 1999 14:34:13 -0500 From: "Will" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Eno Hey Kicki, Sorry about that whole multilingual thing, actually I was the target of the joke, but sometimes my humor isn't recieved properly when typed. Checkout(if you don't have it already) David Byrne's wonderful album "The Catherine Wheel". Very similiar except instead of remixed radio voices you have Byrne on vocals. Eno only co-wrote two songs with Byrne on the CD but it still has a Eno influence on the whole project. Eno also plays on song he did not write. Other notable artists are Adrian Belew(Zappa,Bowie,King Crimson), Bernie Worrell and Jerry Harrison(Talking Heads). At 72 minutes you can't go wrong!! Two Soldiers(3:31) and Under The Mountain(0:53) are still my two favorite instrumentals(drumming is great!!). I better stop there because I'm playing the CD now and I guess I like all the songs. Byrne and Eno were way ahead of the times with this one and you can still hear their influences on todays current music scene. Oh well that's all for now... "Ghosts" came out after "Remain in Light", but I think that may have been due to the the litigation.
