Your Painted Smile, The Only Face, Which way to turn and Chain Reaction launched in a row (that's why I like CD-players!) leave the burning ground of brain cells (so by the time I must have lost most of them) and a desperate wish for one more gulp of wine - just to get enough courage to start over. There's is no rule that you should post on a regular basis. I can imagine that some of the newcomers on this list feel a bit uncomfortable because its like walking into a party where everybody knows each other. Sometimes a newbie ask a question that has been asked so many times before that no one react and sometimes nobody knows the answer. But if no one react it definitely feels not like a warm welcome. For example this week a new guy Rick Stil asked a question about sheetmusic and as far as I no nobody gives an answer or said welcome. I now that there are some people who are just interested in facts and news and they don't want to take part in the discussion. But you're right if you say that this list only works if enough people write on a regular basis but we have Heather, Kicki, Martin, John etc so the quantity and the quality is not really the problem. Rick Still welcome......lurk and write as much as you want. Say Something!! Is that the guy that I told to "feel free to display bad taste on the list"? If not, a hearty welcome to Rick 'Me NoSo' Stil is in order. While I'm at it I might add that I haven't seen any tabs for Roxy, as he asks. Welcome nonetheless. Good point Han, I say post if you want to, I'll read it, or don't. Whatever floats your boat. No, it wasn't me, though I would very much like to be quoted in pseuds corner - I have said plenty of things that qualify. Why has nobody submitted any of them? I'd submit myself, but that's not quite in the spirit of things, is it? I could, of course, submit Martin or Bahi, but they would be so sure of getting published I would end up consumed by jealousy. Mind you, the tenner would be nice. But actually I can't see that suggesting Ferry's shyness affects his performance manner is particularly pseudish. Perhaps the pseuds corner quote phrased it in a loftier manner? It would probably be wise for the Eye to refrain from including too much rock criticism anyway. Once you start, where do you finish? Rock writing is on the whole so poor - so self-regarding, so pretentious,so empty, frequently illiterate - that you could fill up every issue of the Eye with that week's ramblings. Flesh and Blood both sides the WORST Roxy songs???????? That happens to be the first Roxy Music album I got not too long ago...I'd say 9 months ago, and ever since then I've been getting as many Roxy/Roxy Members/Eno/Ferry stuff I can find! "Over You", "Rain, Rain, Rain", "Oh Yeah", and "Running Wild" (you CAN'T tell me that sax solo doesn't getcha) are what really tuned me in to the whole experience....sure I've run into mediocre Roxy/Ferry songs....but not a BAD one! - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jun 1999 19:39:07 PDT From: Chris Sigetti Subject: Re: [AVALON] E > > > Oh yeah, with my tongue I suppose?
